WOW!

This stuff is magic! I needed to rejuvenate some DryPlus rain gear that's about 25 years old. After a prewash, I figured soaking would be best and followed the directions on the bottle. I used the washer but did not rinse, just drain and spin after it soaked for about 15 min in warm water. I used 3 oz figuring I'd get 3 uses from the 10 oz bottle. Then, I dried it on low heat in the dryer. After removing the coat and pants, I tested them in the sink and the water beaded up and rolled off like it was brand new. I am beyond impressed! Hopefully this treatment will last a few years, but I have 2 more applications left if needed. I am beyond amazed at how well this stuff worked. 💪

Raincoat works like new again!

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this stuff was awesome. I’ve had the same Columbia raincoat for years and it was letting water soak through. I used this product and water beads up and runs right off again! Maybe even better than new. A little expensive but much cheaper than a new rain jacket and you get enough to do multiple items. Might do my tents and dry bags too!

Pretty good, not great.

Not sure this makes clothes as water repellent as factory solutions, but it does create some water repellency. Probably better for refreshing dwr instead of making new clothes water repellent.

made my old rain suit like new!

I had a 10 year old rain gear set, bibs and jacket. i used the recommended GEAR AID Revivex Pro High-Tech Fabric Cleaner fist. and then used the Gear Aid Wash-in Water Repellent. WOW! my rain suit came out like new. smelled new, and is completely waterproof again. i am gonna try to waterproof a sweatshirt and see how that works.

Waterproofing product

These product doest coat the jacket enough for it to be waterproof. Regardless of the directions. Im woundering if it works at all.

New life to old jackets

I used this on three famous company's jackets (one is more than 30 years old) and a fourth no name jacket with some texture to the shell. Proof is in the pictures. I’m very happy with how the water beads up after treatment. I will definitely use this again when needed and am recommending it to my friends.Success seems to be related to the procedure. Here is mine:I washed jackets in a detergent with no fabric softeners and did not dry. Then I refilled washer with warm water and added the product (1 ounce/garment is suggested but I decided to put 5 ounces in for four jackets because two are longer length and had lining) and allowed the machine to mix the solution and garments. Do not rinse. I let soak 10 minutes. Then (without rinsing) I used the spin cycle to get most of the water out. The jackets with lining trapped water between layers which I carefully squeezed out by hand. I then repeated the spin cycle. (Again, do not rinse, just spin) I tumble dried each jacket separately on lowest heat setting until each was damp dry. Then, I tumbled them together until dry, checking and sometimes turning them inside or right side out so heat penetrated all layers.

Did not work

I bought this to use on my shower curtain and curtain liner since I have a cloth one that is supposed to be water resistant but isn't really. I did 2 rounds of soaking them in water with more product than what it called for, and followed by a drying cycle on medium in my dryer. I did the bucket method to make sure they were really soaked fully. The water is still going through both the liner and curtain. I have some of the spray waterproofing that I might have to try if I can't find another solution besides getting a new liner, which I don't want to do.

Very good repellency & durability. Especially if you can use medium heat, & clean your washer first.

This is a great replacement or add on DWR for most materials. You do need to clean the garment or bag first, with a couple extra rinses and maybe a couple more rinses. Not so much to rinse the garment, but to make sure that there isn't any detergent (especially this) or soap residue in the washer. Any detergent will drastically reduce the effectiveness of any and every DWR or breathable fabric no matter who makes it, where it was made, or what it's on. It has to do with the weakening of surface tension and allowing water to pass through areas it's normally not able to.Anyway, throroughly rinse. Run this through a soak cycle and a higher soil setting (longer agitation), and a single rinse with a low water level if your machine allows that. Ideally you can dry the item(s) on medium as this will make it bond better to the item and it will last longer. Low works but not as well, and if you can't use the dryer at all air drying works, it's just not as long lasting.
