USA Pine Straw - Pine Needle Mulch - Covers 240 Sqft

This pine straw is serving well in the garden. Strawberry patches use this all year. Other gardens are under the straw for winter. The long needles mean this can be placed on the ground and the resulting mat operates as a whole (v individual needles blowing around in a breeze). Unlike some I’ve gotten, this does not roll out as a mat. That is good and bad for depending on the job. It is quite clean with occasional pine cones & branch pieces. It is well dried. The packing is tight but easily used. It is packed in bundles (without wire or string) so that a section is easily lifted from the box. The needles are sturdy and stay intact as the straw is being spread. Even with moderately windy conditions this has been staying where it was placed.

There are mixed reviews on this pinestraw , but I personally love it . I do about 8-10 boxes every 6 months to keep my garden areas fluffed up and nice looking .

Because I live in the Northwest there really is no reason for me to use these. They are extremely expensive and by the time they break down around your acid loving plants I don’t think it is worth it. I was able to use them however in a good way. I put all of my summer clippings along with small pieces of cardboard around my under my deck plantings and since they did not completely breakdown, it was extremely easy to cover them with this product because bark dust would have looked bumpy. That is why I gave it a 4 star because it worked for me this way and it looks nice.

I love pine needle mulch. The amount delivered goes far. I place about 1” of pine needle mulch mixed with compost around young trees, shrubs, and perennial flowers. Pine needle mulch is lighter and easier to work with than bagged mulch without the use of plastic bags and the pine needles break down slowly over 2-3 years. Tree back or wood mulch usually breaks down into soil after one year so I used to have to reapply it annually. Pine needle mulch keeps providing soil moisture retention for 2-3 years. The mulch smells great and is mold resistant.

Neatly and securely package. Took about a week to arrive. Easy to spread. Good coverage. Took 3 boxes to cover areas in photos in our backyard. Pleased with the results. We lived 15 yrs in VA - 20 in TX. This brings back good memories. Dogs have not dug any holes yet.

Good quality but over priced for the amount. There are essentially 4 compact bails each about the size of the packaged Home Depot bails. You can the same amount of pine straw for about 40 dollars cheaper.

Moved from GA to ME and still had to have our lovely pine straw ! This company is the best ! We used them in Canton and HAD to have their clean pine straw up here in our new home !! No sticks /debris…just glorious long needle pine straw ! The box was SO full , shipping was fast ! Thanks ! We always recommend ! :)
