My eyes are extremely sensative to light, and Maui Jim Blue Hawaii (Polarized) lenses are the best I've used. My eyes don't get strained in the bright sun, and the polarization is second to none. The Onshore frames fit me perfectly and look fantastic. The frames and lenses are durable, but If you scratch or crack a lens like I did when I dropped my shades on concrete, Maui Jim will replace your lens for $90 each ($75 + $15 processing). I've been buying Maui Jims for years and I'll continue to do so!

I tried both this and the "Local Kine" wrap version while trying to find a new favorite "premium" set of shades. I liked these a lot, but preferred the coverage and look of the "wrap" better on my head. These were returned.My thoughts overall, cribbed from my review of the wrap version:After many attempts with cheaper sunglasses, I decided to go back to my long-ago favorite Maui Jim's.It's a world of difference. Super clear, polarization works beautifully. I can read with them on, even in the brightest sunlight. The UV blocking works as advertised (as proven by my sunburn "mask" recently). I love the mirroring effect and distinctive blue color.I've included cropped photos of how these sunglasses fit on my large noggin (L/XL hat-size). The Maui Jim sizing guidelines are accurate, although they don't match what other brands use (where these would be a medium aka "too tight").There's also a clever new case that's barely larger than the sunglasses, very lightweight (but sturdy) and folds completely flat. A vast improvement over the bulky old cases.Honestly I cringe at spending so much on sunglasses, but the quality is notably, palpably better than even 50-100 dollar models. Glass lenses instead of plastic make a huge difference in refraction. The build is solid.But one word of advice? Get some sunglass "keepers" (cord that fits the ends of the earpieces) so your expensive new purchases with glass lenses doesn't end up on the ground (or in the ocean).Recommended.

I’ve had everything from cheap sunglasses to other pairs of Maui Jim’s to Ray-Bans, and other high end glasses. I love these glasses and Maui Jim’s in general because they easily have the clearest, most crisp, best polarization you can find. Everything from dusk to direct sunlight is clear with zero eye strain. Enhanced colors and definition as well. Must try the Maui Jim glass. You won’t be disappointed.

I have been buying Oakleys for over an decade and tried these as my wife has Maui Jims and has been recommending for years to try them. They are of better clarity and quality than all of my Oakley’s.

Maui’s pull out amazing vibrant colors. Durable basically scratch proof lens. Great sunglasses!
