Achla Designs Glass Flower Aquarium, Globe Vase

I had one of these more years than I want to remember ago. We have always been gardeners and sometimes you’ll get some flowers on stems that are too short for vases. The beauty of this globe is that you can still bring those flowers in and enjoy them. Additionally, because it is in water and is a globe, the flowers are larger and more beautiful than in life. The process is simple. There are three pieces to this. In addition to the glass globe, there is a rubber base that acts as a frog…with holes to hold the stems in a simple arrangement. There is also a plastic base that the globe sits in. When you are putting it all together, you turn the globe with the open bottom facing up so it holds it steady while you are working with it. After you are done, the finished globe sits inside it for support. The way it works is that you fill the globe with water and a couple of teaspoons of white vinegar that acts as a preservative. You insert the flower stems into the holder in the rubber base and make sure they are tight. Then you turn the flower arrangement upside down and push the flowers into the water in the globe. You will probably have to squeeze some of the flowers lightly together to get them into the globe. Then you fill in any more water that the globe needs to be completely full. Secure the rubber base to the globe by pulling it over the bottom ring of the globe. Once it’s full, you will need to “burp” out any extra air that is still in the globe. When you finally have the air out, invert it all and set it into the plastic base. You’ll probably have to wipe the glass dry with a paper towel. Your flowers will look gorgeous and very large, and they will last for days.

I have bought many of these over the years. You can take just one big beautiful flower and it becomes a beautiful piece of art as it is magnified in water in the globe. It can last for weeks! One year at Christmas I had three on my dining table with a deep red rose inside and at the end of the meal, each couple got to take one home as thier Christmas gift.

I had one of these years ago and I have been looking to replace it for awhile. I was so pleased when I found it on Amazon's website. The only problem I have with it is that it is so difficult to put the seal on the base. I can't do it and my very strong son even had trouble getting it on. My old one wasn't hard at all. The flowers look lovely in it so I guess it is worth the effort. I would give it 5 stars if it was easier.

I love my globe vase. As you will see from the first picture, the rose is pink, I was unable to get the gasket on without loosing a little of the water, and there were quite a few bubbles. With that being said, the first picture was taken on Jan 14 and the second picture of the same rose on Feb 23. The bubbles disappeared over time and the color of the rose faded but I continue to enjoy a rose from my special day.

The snake is estimated 4’-5’, and it fits perfectly!Previous reviewed mentioned leakage, but I haven’t had an issue!Super easy to put the rubber top on. More than likely to buy more!

Looks pretty and easy to place flowers in the clamps, but the globe leaks sometimes and it’s hard to fit larger flowers in without damaging them.

The media could not be loaded. So thankful I was able to find this online! I broke the one that was a gift to me and since they only sold in stores during Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to do this myself not only can I refill the vase but put in different flowers and even change the decoration style! I love it! I bought a flower arrangement for the globe. I set it up as instructions said. I gave it to my friend for her birthday. She loved it. Then, 2 days later she sent me a picture with 1/2 the water drained out of it. I was very embarrassed. Now I have to ask her to give it back to me so I can return it.
