Presto 07047 Cool Touch Electric Griddle

I used an older model Presto griddle for years and while it had its issues, it was a reliable champ and I knew that when I bought my own griddle, it would be Presto.I really couldn’t be more pleased with this griddle! It heats quickly and evenly, the nonstick works perfectly, and has ample surface area for cooking.The older model I’m used to had 3-4” legs, so I appreciate the slimmer profile because it’s easier to store. The lip around the edge is helpful for flipping and for keeping food corralled onto the cooking surface. There’s an opening for liquid runoff that goes into an amply-sized removable drip tray; there shouldn’t be any worries about it overfilling while cooking.My one and only complaint is that the drip tray doesn’t click in securely, so it easily falls out while moving the griddle. I often switch mine between vertical and flat, so I use a bit of masking tape on either side to keep the tray from flopping around and being an annoyance.I do highly recommend this griddle, as I made a giant pancake and was impressed at how evenly it had cooked.

I use this little grill often --very often -- It is nice to look at -- It heats to cooking temperature quickly -- it maintains temperature perfectly -- it is compact enough to fit almost anywhere in my kitchen -- it is big enough to cook Eight burgers at a time or 8 large pancakes at a time or a couple of dozen eggs at a time--Great for grilled sandwiches --- steaks ---bacon -- everything that people normally grill --- Clean up is a breeze-- it is totally non-stick -- I do not believe that anyone could ever ask for anything more of a grill and I am positively thrilled that I own it.

I use the electric griddle for many things like eggs, bacon and hash browns (all at once), and I have ample room to cook. Another example is to heat up my tortillas, the griddle gets hot almost instantly and quickly browns things as crispy as I like. Cleanup is simple, most times I use a paper towel and just wipe clean. If extra dirty like after bacon I tip it sideways and use a very lightly dampened/soaped sponge. It actually claims “ok to immerse” but I don’t foresee a need to, however it is nice to know the option is available. Solidly built, excellent value for the $

Tried it the other day for the first time, as with most electrical cookware, had a slight odor when first used. Cooked ok, seems like heat distribution is okay… as the pancakes all cooked up evenly. Heat control seems to be spot on. Excited to use it again. The drip tray is handy, tiny bits of pancake or whatever can be swept into the tray to stop the surface from burning. Cleans well!10/01/2022 update- this is a fantastic kitchen appliance! I’ve made stir fry on this, scrambled eggs, grilled meats, cooked bacon, made toasted sandwiches!!! Easy to use and clean!! Convenient and will not heat up the entire kitchen like a stove.

I love this grill, and use it roughly every week to make pancakes.I was surprised at how fast it heats up. I haven't timed it, but I'd say about 3 minutes to heat up to 350ºF. Others may think this is slow, but to me it's fast. The top has a nice even heat to it, and I haven't once burned a pancake on it even when I forgot to flip it for a few extra minutes.It's much better than trying to use a pan and an electric oven. This grill only heats up to the dial, so I can turn it on and walk away without worrying about damaging my pan.The non-stick is nice too. No more burning butter in a pan. So far, it's held up nicely to hand washing. Obviously I don't use metal flippers on it.I usually don't like these types of products as they become very messy and hard to clean up, but this model is submersible. I just soap it up with a sponge and run it under my sink.As I stated, I normally don't go for these types of products, but the price for me was right to give it a try.If I had to put a negative down, I'd say two things, both of which are trivial. First, the little slide out drip tray falls out really easily when moving the unit around. It stays put just fine when actually using the unit though. I just have a habit of picking the thing up from the back. My own fault. Second, be careful of the plug. For my set-up, it likes to wrap back around and sit right on top of the grill.Lastly, I'm kinda sad I didn't see they had a bigger area unit for sale when I bought mine, not that I would have bought it at that time. After using this unit for a while, I want more area so I can make pancakes even faster. I can fit two large pancakes at a time on the grill. I'm sure better cooks or smaller pancakes would increase how fast one can crank out food. I find it enough to keep two people in pancakes until they are sated. For a larger family with hungry teenagers, I'd want more space to make sure people aren't waiting for food.Overall, I'm very pleased. This is a practical product at a good price. I bought a second one for my friend for Christmas.
