Milestones Mosaic Stepping Stone Kit-Mosaic

We were able to make this stepping stone with our dog a few days before he died. Make sure to pay attention to the hardening of the concrete.

I purchased to spend some one on one time with my son, and to make something for our garden. We had a great time. I helped with the cement mixing part, and then he did all the decorating on his own. We both wore gloves, which I recommend. I also wore a mask while pouring the cement powder and mixing. I mixed according to instructions, the exact amount of water was all it needed, and it did fully harden by 24 hours.The glass pieces are vibrant and pretty in the completed project. Looks great in the garden.

This stepping stone kit was well-priced and arrived fast! Our plastic mold was cracked upon arrival, but we were able to fix it easily with some plastic tape (we used a thin plastic tape in hopes it wouldn't leave a seam in the cement, and it worked).We had a specific design in mind, so before starting we went to the craft store to supplement the mosaic options with other glass beads. There are probably some thriftier ways, though! I bet a tile store might be willing to gift some broken shards, though the colors would still be out of your control.Overall, I probably would get this kit again. If my mold hadn't been cracked, though, we could have re-used it and just purchased more cement.

This was bigger and sturdier than I expected, so I was pleasantly surprised. It was a great project to do with my daughter. We used our own pottery shards, but the glass that game with it had a nice variety of colors (mainly dark and light blues, green, white and amber/brown). Cleanup was so easy, and the whole process is faster than I imagined. After 24 hours we were able to set the stepping stone in our garden. It seems really sturdy , which is good because I want it to last.

The stone came out okay. When I received the box the mold was broken and had to be duck tapped, there was a hole in the concrete mix and dust everywhere. The selection of glass pieces was limited and they came in plastic & tacky looking colors. Not as nice as the photo on the box made it to look. For 30 dollars, I think next time I will purchase concrete mix and much nicer glass for a similar price and much nicer outcome. I got the concrete as smooth as possible but for whatever reason while drying it became waved and rigid with a lot of texture. I had to try and scrape the stone once it hardened to smooth the top. Over all the stone came out in one piece and looks decent, would recommend looking else where if you can.

I was looking for a memorial stone for my mom to put in her garden in memory of my dad, and I couldn't find anything so I decided to make one myself. I made my own stencil, but used the rest of the materials in the kit. When you pour the concrete into the mold and smooth it, you do need to jiggle it (gently) quite a bit to get all the air bubbles out (about ten minutes). There were more than enough glass pieces for my design, though there were no white pieces as shown in the product photos. I waited two days to remove from the mold and brush the concrete off the glass. The mold came off easily. It seems durable and it was easy to complete the whole project.

Finally got around the using this and opened it up to find the extremely flimsy and thin plastic my mold had been cracked open and chipped on several places. And the "mosaic tiles" it says it comes with are very obviously just broken bottle glass. You can still see the texture on the blue and green glass that the bottom of alcohol bottles has. Luckily I ordered some stained glass scraps as well and tried my best to tape up the mold and make it work. It only lasted two uses before it Broke irreparably. If you're getting this cause you think it's a whole kit and you can make the designs with what they send, you cannot. They send a very small amount and most of it doesn't look good. If you're getting this cause you want the octagon shaped mold I wouldn't. It's flimsy and won't last, even if it does somehow make it to you intact.

Did not look like the package at all. There was not enough stones to make the stepping stone as shown in the picture. Colours of the stones ere only blue and purple, and a few whites.

Mosaic Stepping Stone Kit- a wonderful kit to use, i found it easy to understand and I made a unique stepping stone of my own design.This kit came with its own designs inside which are very easy to put on the stepping stone.With a large amount of different coloured glass to choose from I still had some left over,and I have reused the mould.
