What color is this after it sets?
I live near Atlanta, will this hold up well to the hot humid summers?
Would be good to seal/reseal car headlight. If yes, what temp need to break the structure for resealing?
Is this product easy to apply just into the crack without overlaying on to the smooth surface of the driveway? Is it black?

better than the liquid stuff

This works pretty good for filling cracks, but you are limited in where you can use it. If the crack is small, this stuff is too thick to go into the crack, and you end up just covering the top (which isn't good). And if the crack is too big, you can empty a whole tube of this stuff in no time, so this can get very expensive if you have a large driveway.

works well if you do it right

Some of the complaints on here are really weird, which makes me wonder if people know what they're doing, or if they're thinking that this is a different product than it is. I've used this now just fill multiple cracks, even big deep cracks as wide as my finger, and the only "trick" is that you need to back it with something if you have anything more than superficial cracks. I've been using foam rods that I wedge down in there, but there are various things you can back it with if you look around. If you don't back it, you're going to waste tube after tube of it trying to fill a crack, and it's just not going to be a good fill. Back it well, sweep out any loose dirt, and then squeeze a good amount, you want to stick the tip down in there and then fill it so that it is mounded slightly up above the level of the driveway, and then just keep going until you finish the whole crack, and when you come back, it should have settled slightly and you just scrape a putty knife across it and call it a day. one box should fill 3-4 deep cracks that run the width of a driveway, if you do this. The only downside that I've seen is that if it happens to rain within a day or two of doing it and the water stands on top of it for too long, it will discolor to a brownish color. it doesn't seem to affect the bond in any way, and if it bugs you, you can just skim a thin fresh layer of it back over it with a putty knife to fix it

it works

My boyfriend asked me to buy this when he was patching the roof for my shed. Idk what he did with it, but my shed does not have a leak anymore, so it must have worked.

Messy but effective

This stuff is basically tar but it will sure as heck seal up your roof. I used this when installing an attic fan and used two tubes for the entire process, 12" circular cut with flashing.

A Year Later

A year ago I used eight tubes of this product to fill cracks in my driveway in northern Minnesota. Today I revisited the area to touch up and refill cracks as needed. I have four tubes left. I don’t need them this year. This product made it through all the seasons, an entire year, without any degradation. I’m good to go for another winter of cold, ice, snow and snow removal. This is a good product for sure.

Convenient way to seal up those annoying cracks in your asphalt driveway

Convenient way to seal up those annoying cracks in your asphalt driveway. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure: sealing when the crack first appears prevents dirt getting in there, weeds sprouting, and damage when water oozes in and freezes (widening the damage). I also wanted to stop ants from making their homes in the cracks and then coming into the garage, which has been "bugging" me for two years since I moved in. Works like a charm, although it can be messy. First, clean out the crack or holes and use your dustbuster to vac out any grit remaining. Cut an angled piece out of the tip then slowly pump the caulk gun. Have a cloth or board ready when the material comes out to avoid waste and mess. I used a small putty knife to carefully apply and smooth out the gooey tar-like stuff. When the weather is hot, drying doesn't take long, but I picked a long weekend when we would not be driving over the repairs. Cleans up with mineral spirits. Avoid getting on your clothes or shoes! I am ordering a second tube for future repairs. Good stuff, and beats buying a five-gallon bucket of tar.

Easy to use, works very well!

Before dealing my driveway I wanted to seal in some of the cracks.I like the ability to directly inject the sealer into the cracks for a positive seal.I set the tubes out in the sun to "warm" them up and make the sealer flow into the cracks easier. They worked better than the stuff I got at Lowes years ago.I left the product sit for a few days then applied the top coat sealer over my driveway and over the Crack Sealer which in combination is working great! Several rain showers and I can clearly see the product works!
