Does this work the core? or is it just upper body fitness?

it works your whole body. the areas are dependent on the exercise you do too. I use this website: http://www.fitryo.com/total-bar/exercises/I mainly got this because I do pilates and wanted to extend my workouts at home when I don't go to the pilates studio. if you're familiar with pilates then you will see how some of the exercises work like pilates moves by toning one area and working another. also, my husband started using this recently too and likes it specifically for his upper arms. he says the core must be engaged when he uses it or else he wouldn't feel all over. the core is everything so even though it may not seem like you are using it you really are. this is not an extreme tool so don't expect more than toning and defining and building on your current workouts. overall I really like it and once you get used to it you'll like it even more. it really does work! enjoy.

Question 3

I see this works for rehabilitation but will a person who is out of shape be able to use it?  I see different comments indicating it's hard to use.

The person out of shape will be able to use it.  More importantly, will the person stay with the exercise bar in order to master the coordination needed to have it work well.  It is not hard to master.  It is, as with all other activities, a matter of practice.  Is the person out of shape willing to put in the practice.  Being out of shape is not the problem.  The problem arises when the person does not put in the practice time necessary and then blames it on being out of shape.  Use it and you will master it; don't use it and you won't master it.  That is the hard and easy of using the exercise bar.  Ben

Question 4

Are there exercises for full body to include legs, rear? Or by doing the upper, it'll help with lower?

I'm a personal trainer and in my opinion, this bar works your core mostly and not the legs or rear.   There is a great emphasis on trunk stabilization.  Depending on your goals, the lower body can increase endurance by using the bar if you hold a position; (a lunge for example) while using the bar.  But I wouldn't expect significant changes in muscle growth or fat loss in the lower body by using this tool.  Hope this helps.
