A "Fender" is a "Fender"
FIRST; DO NOT(!) let where it's made stop you from buying this machine. A Fender is a Fender and they DON'T lend their name to junk! After referbishing my dear old "WAR HORSE" 1968 Jazz Base, with all new chrome pickup covers and even the knuckel buster, I realaized why I took all that stuff off in the first place...You can't play it!But it looks so darn good, this way, that I decided to leave it on and, just, break down and buy this one. I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED!It plays and feels like my '68 and sounds just as sweet. The (off-white) arctic white/maple is very sophisticated. I added a Genuine Fender, vintage, tortis shell pickguard and that makes it look REALLY classy. It plays just as good as it looks. The "satin finish" on the neck is a nice new feature. Solid tuning machines, nice strings, and, it even came set-up nicely. THE WORKMANSHIP IS FLAWLESS!It came solidly packed, and in perfect shape, by Fender.I was very pleasently surprised to find that it came packed inside a really nice Fender gig-bag! FREE!So if you want the over all unique sound and solid mid-tones of a Jazz Bass, at a VERY reasonable price, don't pass this up...For your second Jazz or even your first.

Fender Jazz Bass MIM
I've been playing bass for over 15 years, so I've had my fair share of playing many basses that cover the pure crap to top of the line spectrum. The quality of this bass is pretty impressive. It looks beautiful and feels solid. I'm able to get several types of sounds from this bass ranging from buttery low tones to high-punchy and everything in between. My only complaint is the the neck and action wasn't as low as i wanted it to be. I've read reviews from other websites saying some people got basses with excellent action straight out of the box. I prefer the action to be a low as possible without string buzz. It's nothing $50 can't fix, not a big deal.Overall. It's a beautiful sounding solid bass. I've owned a Fender American Jazz Deluxe bass 10 years ago. Comparably speaking, the feel is pretty dead on. Obviously the American Jazz Deluxe bass is more versatile in the sound department, but not by too much if you have good playing techniques. If you can't shell out $1,200+ and want a reliable great sounding bass with that Fender Jazz bass sound I recommend this one.

My Dream Bass!
The Fender Jazz Bass is my dream bass! 8 years ago, I purchased a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass because it had the tone, playability and looks of a Jazz Bass and at the time it was more affordable. To this day, the Squier has served me well, but this Christmas I decided to go for the gusto and get the real-deal Fender I've always wanted...and I'm REALLY glad I did!Right out of the box, the first thing I noticed is how STUNNING it looks! Arctic White finish with a glossy maple neck. It's perfect...not a thing out of place. The bridge is set perfectly - not too low, not too high, the action is just right. Then there's the playability. This bass plays smooth as butter! The neck is so comfortable and the medium-jumbo frets are flawless. And with the aforementioned set-up, my fretting hand does more work with less pressure, making this bass a joy to play. And of course it has that JAZZ BASS TONE and tons of it! Playing finger style, I get that warm, round tone with lots of bottom. When I slap it, I get that Larry Graham, Marcus Miller funk!As I said, the Fender Jazz Bass is my dream bass and it is EVERYTHING I expected it to be. As for my Squier, after 8 years of owning it, I can honestly say that it is an EXCELLENT bass. Fender puts the same level of quality into the Squier line of guitars as they do the Fender line. I'm happy with both!

Fender has a reputation on quality and the quality of the guitar is proof.
Purchased as a present for my son as beginner bass guitar. He has had it for about two years now and still loves it. He plays it in his school concerts and it has a very nice sound. Will probably be buying him the next step up Fender and he can use this as a back up this year. Fender has a reputation on quality and the quality of the guitar is proof.

Great bass
You need to have it professionally set up after it arrives, and a good case is at least $100 more, but it's a great instrument and tons of fun to play for the money. Happy with the purchase, have gigged with it successfully many times.

Fender sound at an affordable price
Great sounding bass. The one I bought was actually a rosewood neck. It's MIM but it's got that great Fender tone you can't get from any other bass. I'd love an MIA, but this is Fender sound at an affordable price. I adjusted the neck a bit, lowered the action, put a set of roto 77 flats on it. I run it straight into an ampeg ba210.
