Toro88532 Single Trimmer Line, 12-Inch

I switched from a larger weed Wacker a few years ago because they were heavy and cumbersome. I'm 77 now so a lighter weight whip was easier for me to handle. Toro makes this one, but I was unable to find a replacement spool at the local hardware shops. This one on Amazon fits the device. No issues. Simple.

Just make sure you research that you are buying the right size for your "string trimmer." I researched the description from the original company to make sure I was getting the right product at via Amazon. It came from a 2nd party seller; so, I waited a few days. So, buy your back up spool now for when your current spool runs out. Great customer service and price.

This was my first trimmer, so I assume this is normal trim line. After purchasing a new trimmer, it seems like that .065 line is more sturdy and doesn’t break off as much as this trim line. It’s easy to load and easy to use.

I bought a very high quality battery-powered string trimmer for my very busy daughter, the mother of two small daughters. The one problem I found with this is that unless you know where to find a full-service Toro dealer, it can be very hard to find the correct string trimmer line pre-wrapped, and wrapping it yourself can be very time-consuming, especially with two screaming infants. I found the correct string line, on the correct spools, here on Amazon, at a reasonable price.Obviously this is an item of interest to very few Amazon customers, but the point is, if it exists, you can probably find it on Amazon for a decent price, and without the hassle of driving around all day. And with a Prime membership, most items arrive in two days with free shipping.

The line is easy to drop in and it performs as expected. It is quite thin, so don't be too aggressive using it or you'll be buying a lot of these. If you use the trimmer properly, with the guide against the fence, house, etc. the line lasts longer. I had one spool where the line became jammed because of the way it was wrapped, but it was a quick fix. Lately, I have bought bulk line locally and wound it on the spool myself to save a few bucks. Be sure to check for wear on the reused spool and don't overload the line or it could bind.

I got this with my Toro cordless 24 V string trimmer. It's fairly easy to replace the cartridge - just have to make sure the string goes through the slots on the side of the cartridge. The instructions are a bit vague, however. I got a 300 ft spool of string to wind on by hand (Cyclone .065-Inch-by-300-Foot Spool Commercial Grade 6-Blade 1/2-Pound) instead of using this replacement cartridge. But it works well, if you don't want to deal with winding string.

I had reservations about a battery operated trimmer but the toro works better than any gas trimmer I've owned. The only down side is the length of time that it takes to recharge the battery. I've read reviews critical of how long a charge last. I have an acre and half to edge, the toro has no problem handling the job. I can edge my lawn three times before a charge is necessary. I'll never go back to a gas charger!
