Bear Creek Soup Mix, Tortilla, 8.8 Ounce (Pack of 6)

On my meager budget I love the Bear Creek Soup mixes. I prepare one on a Sunday afternoon and it feeds me for a week. In the gumbo mix I put both shrimp and andouille sausage. There's a bit of a bite to it, but not too much and it is delicious.

I get this soup for my parents - it's a quick and easy way for my mother to make soup for them each day. Unfortunately, the last order contained packages that were 11.5 oz instead of 12.1 oz. It's always disheartening when companies hide a reduction in product amount for the same price in this way.

I have used all of the Bear Creek products....chili and several types of soups and they are all excellent!

First of all, I almost gave this soup 4 stars but gave it 5 because it is fine. It's good, actually. But it is NOT what I'd expected as a long-time fan of the condensed Bean with Bacon soup flavor. It is not the same.Unfortunately, that was what I was expecting.This soup is very different in that it has potatoes in it... I wasn't prepared for that. And it has a CHICKEN base, not pork. That really threw me. (Ever eat a piece of blue candy, expecting blue raspberry flavor but instead, it is mint? That's the experience. Mint is fine. Mint is good... as long as you're expecting it.) The smoky bacon flavor that I have long associated with bean soup was missing for me.So, at first, I was disappointed with this soup. But because I had 5 more packages that I didn't want to waste, I decided to either add some fixes or take it for what it is... and it's fine! It's good.The potatoes don't really bother me. They're fine, in fact! As for the chicken base, once you know to expect that, it's okay, too. But if you're like me, add some bacon or ham. I also added some Better Than Bouillon Ham Base to help it out. But if you do that, you need to add a cup more water for every teaspoon of bouillon, and make it a thinner soup, because it will become too salty otherwise. That's what worked for me, and it lowered the calorie content per cup.Again, the soup is good and on it's own, deserves 5 stars. Just know what to expect.

Love this soup it's very easy to make. I make this quite often but I add things like canned chicken and a can of Rotel which enhances the flavor more. Even beginners can make this, I freeze leftover for later.

Dislike how much the price has gone up. Like the flavor. Added some clams my nephew had given me from clam digging.

We were not impressed with this for our self so donated them to the Mission feeding probram

I love this soup because it can stand alone or be added to another cream soup. First found it in Costco but they've stopped selling it.SO glad to discover that I can order it through Amazon!
