I have a mixed review for this. Let me start by saying, once it was put together, I really do like it. I think it is sturdy and generally looks very nice. I bought this for my kids to use for their coats and backpacks and feel as though it will work quite well.First the positive: I really like the look of this. A nice solid black. (I read several reviews that stated theirs had a red rub through theirs - I would have loved that but alas, mine is solid black) I was generally able to put it together by myself. (the lid was a bit tricky but not impossible) It looks nice and will work exactly as I expect it to. As I stated above, it seems sturdy and my kids are able to sit on it and take off shoes.My complaints are similar to others, one of the holes was not drilled completely through which was a bit of a challenge as I had already started putting things together. That said, I was able to poke through (with a hammer and screw) without buying a drill and drilling it. Not efficient or expected, but certainly not a major road block either. The other complaint I have, which I will be contacting the company about, is the missing pieces. Again, in this instance, it didn't keep me from completing the project. But in reading other reviews this seems to be a common problem. My missing pieces were just the screw covers to make it look finished. There were a few minor marks on the lid of the bench, but it was in the back and not noticeable at all. (frankly a black sharpie will take care of it) One thing that really annoyed me, there were no marks or pre-drilled holes for the hooks. I had to measure and line everything up by myself. Not a huge ordeal, but I would have rather had the marks set for me as I tend to be somewhat mathematically challenged.All in all, I am not disappointed in this cabinet. It is exactly what I hoped for and arrived quicker than I expected, packaged very nicely. I am hopeful that the company will send me the screw covers with no fuss, but if not I will update the review.

Despite the varied reviews the price was too good to pass up. It sits confidently in the garage next to the entry for those that may be wet or muddy have a proper place to sit prior to entry. I was able to stuff a bunch of women/girls boots, shoes and stuff in the large compartment which was great. The hooks are excellent for dog leashes, towels and a raincoat along with other stuff. Top ledge has the honor of displaying the mass assortment of doggie bags and a small arsenal of premium flashlights. Mine turned out strong and sturdy, except for a couple of metal twist locks that are cheap junk and broke due to needing perfect alignment when used, and is actually not a bad looking piece of furniture. My 10 yr old daughter thought it was funny overseeing my efforts with the back part but she couldn't do any better so Dadness ruled supreme that afternoon. No project like this is complete w/o wood glue, rubber mallet, hammer and a screwdriver. If you take your time and think thru to the next step or two and double check alignment then wood glue makes for a solid enhancement. Oh, and the screws strip easy so the right screwdriver (and glue) vs stripping each screw on the way in with a drill will give the products likely outcome on the positive side.

Arrived on time. Box was actually in good shape. Way too many scratches & dings in black finish. I spent a lot of time trying to fix it with 2 brand new Sharpies. I wanted to just return it but it was so heavy I didn’t want to go through the trouble. It took longer than it should have for my husband & I to put it together. Several dowels didn’t align. Also it came very dusty. Like it had been sitting out for a long time. The damage to the pieces had to lie with whomever packaged this because the box was not in bad shape. It was not sturdy as I had hoped either. The bench seems sturdy but the top part is not. My husband had to find extra screws around the house to secure the top. After we were finally done I came to the realization that it was not worth the trouble. I shouldn’t have to touch up scratched up & chipped pieces in something that should come in new condition. It’s here & it’s put together so I will keep it but on a scale from 1-10, I’d give this product a 5. Maybe

I bought this at a great price! It shipped really fast. It is pretty cheap. I would have given this 5 stars but there were some problems...1. several blemishes that they tried to cover up (maybe that's why i got it for under 100$)2. parts didn't fit properly.3. came with way to much Styrofoam (my children found it and lets say it looks like a snow blizzard took place in my house, the cat is even covered in the little balls. this will be fun to clean up ((NOT)).4. The bench squeaks and is hard to open/close.5. the backing to the back and to the floor part of the bench is thin cardboard.6. came covered in dust.It is attractive, better than what I had before. I am fairly satisfied.

I was really excited for this. It came and there were scratches on it but in an area where it’s not glaring at you so it’s okay. The tabs to go over the screws to hide them done fit at all so if you want to hide them you have to super glue them. The material is fairly cheap and not worth $166, it’s like it came from Ikea or something. It does it’s job though and it looks nice so we will keep it. But these aren’t made as nice as they were years ago.

You get what you pay for. We sent 1 back that arrived with chips off the wood, the 2nd had some similar smaller places that were less noticeable so we just decided to keep it. I bought this on Amazon because I saw a similar one in store that was $100 more so I thought this was a good deal but the quality was lacking on this one. Made in China from a lot of thin, flimsy wood pieces. Probably why there were chipped wood pieces in 2 of 2 packages.

To preface this review, I will say that I got a steal of a deal on this product. I am very happy with the way it looks, and it took 1-2 hours for my husband to assemble. It's great for children who can't hang coats up because they can get on the bench and hang their stuff on hooks. The quality is not amazing...parts had a scratch here and there and back parts seem fairly flimsy, so I don't know that I would pay $2-300 for this product, but I am very happy with it for the price I paid.

Don’t waste the money on this, holes did not align and cheap hardware. Had to re drill four holes. Scratched on edges and cheaply built. Not worth it!!!
