This is well detailed model of the Mogami class of heavy cruisers. The value is in the research behind this model. The Mogami-class cruisers epitomize Japan's reaction to the naval limitations treaties of the 1920's and 30's. If one researches the Mogami class design, they will discover a world of international intrigue surrounding the naval arms disarmament treaties. Japan was initially a victim of this diplomatic intrigue and countered with deceipts of her own. This resulted in design flaws within the Mogami class of cruisers. By building the model and understanding the design flaws, one can learn about Japan's strategic predicament and the history of the naval arms limitations treaties that were supposed to prevent WWII.

Se trata de la versión post-Midway del crucero pesado Mogami convertido en portahidroaviones. La maqueta es cara, pero merece la pena. Buenos encajes e incluye un pequeño juego de fotograbados, pero recomiendo el juego de Flyhawk de fotograbados, que Amazon no suministra, lamentablemente, para hacer una maqueta de 10.
