Origami for Children: Book & paper pack with 35 projects

Very nice presentation, easy to follow. The pictures were very helpful. We got a double sided paper (color on both sides) so we will need to get one one sided paper with the white on the back to complete some of these projects. I think the pencils look super cute.Thank you

I bought this for my granddaughter who only knew 2 origami patterns. She had shown me some of her origami creations that she and a friend were making. Since she used recycled paper with printing on one side, I also gave her some of the origami paper. She absolutely loved the book and paper and sent me some of her creations. Reading the book myself before sending it, even I could understand the patterns (and I'm really confused about folding paper!). All in all, I was thrilled with the book and variety of paper in the package and so was my granddaughter. Your service was really quick too.

This book was reasonably priced, and very exciting and attractive to look through. The papers which were supplied with the book were colourful, good quality and easy to work with. My grandchildren ( girls and boys ) couldn't wait to get started. It was perfect for entertaining them on some of our miserable, wet days this Summer. The biggest problem was choosing which one to start with. The instructions were very clear, But in the advanced ones some of the pictures of folds were a bit hard to follow and needed some adult interpretation.Some of the smaller folds were a bit difficult to follow, but the sense of achievement when they worked was great. As the youngest boy who was using it was only four I thought it was great for his dexterity, hand eye co-ordination, self esteem and sense of achievement. The simpler ones were great for him and held his attention well. It also,was a great subject for discussion including... colour, Shape, texture, the history and geography of the origens of the art, future projects, how to share the knowledge with friends and family. It also helps the children to learn to recycle paper in an exciting way. I will buy the extension books at a later date.

Our granddaughter asked for this book for her birthday. She loves it, and has made several pieces from it!

Good projects in paper, but sometimes the directions are a little difficult to understand. It helps to have done origami in the past, but persistence pays off. My 5-year old granddaughter needed help with precision folding, but really liked the results.

My husband spotted this terrific book and said we should get it for my grandson. So I looked at it and had to agree. My 8-year-old grandson was thrilled to receive it, and right away he started making all the projects in it. I highly recommend this book.

My 8yr old has been really into origami this summer. We checked this book out from our local library- and it's great! We do each animal/ object together. They definetly need adult supervision with some of these. There are a few in there that she can do on her own without help, like the dog, cat, penguin, basket, exc. However for the more advanced ones I need to help her. They have each project rated on a 1-3 difficulty level, which is helpful. Overall, it's a great book. There is a big selection of animals, baskets, boats, and other objects to choose from. I'm ordering her her own copy from Amazon right now, because it's certainly a keeper!

Cool paper art work

Wow! First thing to say is this book is great value, with the 35 'projects' included, all with instructions and 61 individual sheets of paper included to complete them (in a neat wallet at the back of the book), each with colourful and unique designs that enhance the finished Origami pieces.The paper is also really good quality, so no danger of tearing by accident.It's fair to say some of the designs are a little quirky, and you'll be creating some objects that you might not be expecting to (e.g. a pencil), but they are all intriguing. It also should be said that some of the creations are quite tricky (each project is rated for difficulty) and some of the instructions are a little challenging to follow - you won't be completing all the projects in a single sitting for sure! However, to me that's a positive, as it adds longevity to the product, and is something that can go back on the bookshelf to be pulled out again on a rainy day (my 11 year-old son has completed just over half of the projects over the course of a year). Younger children will definitely need assistance from an adult to get started, and with the more difficult projects.Really lovely book with a long shelf-life. I've included some photos to give an idea of what you get for your money. Note, I took these photos a while ago (taken me ages to post the review!) before we'd made many of the projects, but some of the sheets in the photo of the wallet in the book were a work in progress, so you don't receive them like this - when you get the book all the sheets are unfolded.

Compré este libro para mi hija de 12 años y está encantada con él. Hay proyectos de tres niveles de dificultad. El papel incluido es una idea estupenda, ya que después de practicar con folios normales su pieza de origami tiene la satisfacción de hacerlo con un papel especial que puede usar para decorar su cuarto. Ya ha hecho cajas para regalar chucherías a sus compañeros y guardar cosas menudas.He de decir que no le doy cinco estrellas porque algunos de los pasos no tienen indicaciones claras y hemos tenido que intentar el modelo varias veces. También es cierto que ninguno en casa es iniciado en origami, pero supongo que ese es el público del libro, así que no hay excusa para ello.Sin embargo, es un libro que recomiendo y que ya tengo en mi lista para algún que otro regalo de cumpleaños. No olvidéis comprar algún paquete de papel de origami extra, son económicos y las cosas quedan preciosas.
