Lifetime Slam-It Basketball Rim, Will Not Fit Other Brands, 18 Inch, Black

I bought this assuming it wouldn't fit our Spalding hoop, but it did, thankfully.My Son and I were able to make this fit the Spalding back board, since the holes on the board were narrower then the holes on the bracket for the new hoop, slightly. We made it work and snugged it all up. I bent the hardware to force it all to fit. Wasn't that hard. And didn't have to buy a whole new hoop. 5 stars for durability and quality and design. Its a great replacement hoop.

Update 2018It is now April 2018, four years since I purchased and installed this rim on my Lifetime Basketball hoop. It is still going strong. The paint has not peeled and its still in a sturdy perfect condition. The net that came with the rim is also intact unlike the nets on my previous rim and soccer goal. I do not regret the purchase.Original ReviewThrough a mowing accident the base of my basketball hoop was punctured/cut. The water evaporated slowly and the goal fell down several times during windy days/storms. This rim is perfect for my Lifetime 1588 XL Hoop. The black color and matte paint texture is an upgrade compared to the orange and slick paint. It's sturdy at 12llbs. The included springs, bolts, nuts, etc., are all of high quality and stronger than my original setup. I have now sealed the cut, filled the base with 500lbs of sand, and installed the new rim. I straigtened out all bent parts from when the hoop fell and now I have a perfect like new hoop. At $39.99 and free shipping you can't find this rim at a lower price anywhere.

The box looked like ace ventura delivered it, but thankfully the contents were undamaged. This replacement came with all assembly hardware in a bag and a new net!This version came with a ubolt for the top spring assembly which is way better than the original indepent bolt assembly. Makes for a more symmetrical installation. If you have a spacer on the back side of the backboard you'll need to keep that for this replacement as well. 2 people would make the replacement way easier. For the bottom bolt assembly, you should tighten from behind because the front will tighten and ruin your bushings. It's a pain on an assbled adjustable base, but doable.I wasn't sure I'd like the black rim but it's not bad.

So when I search “Lifetime rims” and this is presented as a Lifetime Rim and then doesn’t fit…that’s an issue. The hardware provided does not secure the rim properly and now after spending a close to an hour putting this thing together I get to take it off and repackage it for a return. Ridiculous.
