The seat width at the front which is the widest place is 19" - The back is about 16 1/4 inch. What is great about this chair is that they are not so wide so they fit well between table legs. They are beautiful and I recommend you use the amazon assembly if you are impatient land easily frustrated and most short on time. I could have done it. Its not too hard but Having someone else do it allowed me freedom to do other things. He struggled with one un even leg but found that changing legs and tightening up worked and all chairs are balanced well. Up to you but Im grateful I did it!

I paid 123.00 per chair from zozulu. I paid the extra to have amazon team assemble in my home. I did this incase something was damaged or didn't quite fit. Besides I really don't have a lot of patience with this stuff. I'm glad I did it and although he had challenge with one leg he got everything balance and tight and chairs a re beautiful. Well worth the extra cost of assembly. The quality much nicer than I expected. I get only compliments on these chairs. I LOVE THEM. if YOU ORDER MAKE SURE THEY ARE IN STOCK. ASK YOUR SELLER WHEN THEY CAN SHIP. The chairs we were not shipped as fast as I thought because they were coming on a cargo ship, but they made it on time for my dinner party. The gentleman I delt with for my seller was excellent with correspondence and keeping me informed which was appreciated however I had to wait longer than anticipated. good luck - if you like them buy them.
