#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The origin story of one of the most influential and transformative business leaders and philanthropists of the modern age “A surprisingly candid memoir of the Microsoft mogul’s early years…Reading this book feels like watching someone take a well-known black-and-white sketch, fill in the details, and paint it in vivid color.” — GeekWire Everyone is programmed a little differently, and Bill Gates' unique insight led to business triumphs that are now widely known: the twenty-year-old who dropped out of Harvard to start a software company that became an industry giant and changed the way the world works and lives; the billionaire many times over who turned his attention to philanthropic pursuits to address climate change, global health, and U.S. education. Source Code is not about Microsoft or the Gates Foundation or the future of technology. It’s the human, personal story of how Bill Gates became who he is today: his childhood, his early passions and pursuits. It’s the story of his principled grandmother and ambitious parents, his first deep friendships and the sudden death of his best friend; of his struggles to fit in and his discovery of a world of coding and computers in the dawn of a new era; of embarking in his early teens on a path that took him from midnight escapades at a nearby computer center to his college dorm room, where he sparked a revolution that would change the world. Bill Gates tells this, his own story, for the first time: wise, warm, revealing, it’s a fascinating portrait of an American life. Review: About the book - Great book, dive deep into Bill gates life from start. His thinking process and how he and his friends were able to start Microsoft. Review: A Visionary Look - The Source Code by Bill Gates is a compelling and thought-provoking read. Gates combines his deep understanding of technology with a clear and accessible writing style, offering insights into how software shapes our world and what the future might hold. His reflections on AI, climate change, and innovation are especially timely, encouraging readers to think critically about progress and responsibility. What I appreciated most was the balance between technical insight and human perspective—he doesn’t just focus on code, but on how it affects lives. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or just curious about the driving forces behind modern life, this book delivers both inspiration and substance. Highly recommended for anyone looking to understand the impact of technology from one of its most influential pioneers.

A Biographical Classic in Computing
This Book is an inspirational one for millions. The initial Coding Days of Microsoft started with an 8-bit Microprocessor Intel 8080 from Intel Corporation. This information is probably not known by many of us today, when we are thrilled to accept Cloud Computing with AI advantages. The journey of Microsoft in the Computing domain throughout the world is phenomenal since the mid 1970s till date and it will continue to illuminate the future path of computing. I really enjoy reading this Classic Book and recommend every Student of Technology in particular to have a glimpse of it.

Source Code
Written direct and to the point a prequel to the Hard Drive book It tells how much pressure, focus and just gunning down the path laid the foundation for the juggernaut Microsoft

Insightful
Gates's recollections of his early years and the bizarre cast of micro computing pioneers make for a fascinating read. He is refreshingly honest about his own weaknesses and does not use this memoir to settle any scores or tear down his rivals.
