Anchor Hocking 03923RED Ceramic Canister 4pc Set

I should've done a bit more research to double-check the sizes on these things. They're a bit smaller than I imagined, but I'm really bad about judging sizes so taht's mostly my fault. The seal, however, works perfectly and they do look as cute on my shelf as they do in the picture. If you have minimal strength in your hands, though, don't get these. The latch is stiff and strong--normally a good thing, but for the elderly or those with arthritis it could be a challenge. Perfect for keeping tiny-fingered munchkins out of things, though!

I bought these bright red cannisters to add a colorful accent in my new white/grey/black/stainless kitchen. They look wonderful, they are good sizes for coffee, sugar, tea and kosher salt and they open and close nicely. They form a good, solid seal. But the dratted removable plastic seal on the lid keeps falling off. It works pretty well if I dampen the seal before putting it back on, but after a week or so, it falls off again. Still, they are pretty, and I'm enjoying having them in my new kitchen.

Smaller than I wanted

So we pretty much just got these, put some things in them and put them on a shelf in plain view. My girlfriend likes her kitchen appliances and visible storage containers to be red, so that's why I went with these particular items. I think the locking but attached lid is a nice feature. I think I was hoping they would be a little larger, but the dimensions of the containers were right in the description.

I purchased these “ceramic canisters” without taking a magnifying glass to the photo, beyond seeing bright red; what I wanted. I have a set of deep, cobalt blue that I’ve had for probably 20 years. They are great, but too dark for the kitchen in this house. I thought, mix and match. These arrived in a timely fashion. Well packaged from Amazon and the manufacturer...I thought. I opened the package with a box knife. Found the Anchor-Hocking box. Opened that to find two separate boxes inside. Cut the tape on these but the product would not come out. So, I cut down the corner of the inner box. It cut but grit and sand poured from inside the corrugated material onto my counter top and floor.When the canisters appeared I discovered aluminum lids! Unlike my older ones with nice, sturdy ceramic lids. Ok, Looking closely at the photo on Amazon, OK, hard to see but yes, shown. I read the outer box, “Ceramic canister with Stainless Steel lids.” Not stated on website. After removing the plastic bags from the lids, they were sticky, gooey and flat DULL! I tried to clean one by hand to little result. I stripped them down and put them all in the dishwasher to run after dinner. Complained to a friend about them that they must have been manufactured in the deepest, darkest Boondoickia. Made me go look at the bottom of a canister. “Made in China.” Then upon further inspection: “HAND WASH ONLY.” My identical-in-every-way old ones (except for poor manufacturing and “tin” lids) have gone many rounds in the dishwasher and have no such restrictions. I removed the ceramic parts from the dishwasher. Ran the dishwasher. They came out a little brighter only to show dents in the lids. That and the color not being the red depicted on the webpage? Unacceptable. Returned them.

Fit the kitchen theme perfectly. Good tight seal, durable

I bought this set as a holiday accent for my white kitchen. the canisters are so nice I will leave them out all year!

These canisters are small. Not big enough for a quantity of flour and sugar. Hinges and latches are flimsy. Held mine through a kitchen remodel before I discovered this and now it's too late to return.

Absolutely beautiful made pieces but a little brighter of a red then expected

I love these canisters. they are of good quality and a perfect shade of red. the only problem is the seal which can come loose. A bit of glue solves the problem.

Canisters were a little smaller than I expected and I find that the metal tops are 'tinny' and do not align as well as they could.Having said that, I am keeping and using them
