Ikea Stralande White Rotary Cheese Grater for Left and Right Handed

Had purchased the Zyliss rotary grater that was top-rated by America's Test Kitchen. Great for hard cheeses, but awful for soft. Bought this one in hopes that the larger holes would let it succeed where the Zyliss failed. It did!The grating drums are open on both ends, making clean-up MUCH easier. The large-hole drum is great for soft cheeses, the small-hole drum rips through hard cheeses. The IKEA uses a locking end cap to keep the drum in place; it's easier to disassemble for cleaning than the Zyliss.The handle and crank are both longer on this than on the Zyliss. That might be a drawback for those with smaller hands.Hard to argue with the reputation or build quality of the Zyliss, but for my money, this gadget from IKEA is a better value.

I decided it was time to stop eating the processed cheese and start using fresh. This grater is a must. I used it almost everyday for my salads and in the skillet. Hard cheese is easy as well as things like carrots. It's also easy to switch the graters (fine and coarse). It's also easy to clean. Love it!

This was a replacement for the identical one that I bought at Ikea, the handle of which broke after several years of use (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). It works well, is easy to take apart and clean, and I'm left-handed so appreciate that the handle can go on either side. Having a small one like this (as opposed to one that attaches to the counter for rapid shredding of large amounts) is convenient as far as bringing it to the table for those who might want to add extra cheese.

My other brand was inferior to the quality of this grader. It’s sharp, smooth, sturdy, shreds cheese quickly, and stores nicely holding much cheese.

Well made and grades extremely well. Easy to take apart and clean. Super great value for the money.

I'm very happy with this cheese grater. I quit buying pre-grated cheese because of the anti-caking agents but I hated hand grating. This grater is quick and easy and cleans easily.

I really don't know why these get such good reviews. It's hard to handle. Like the cheese doesn't grate smoothly at all. The little flap on top that pushes the cheese down needs to be manually pressed down toward the end of the block of cheese but then your hand is in the way of the crank. It's just not an awesome design and it's not super cheap, especially considering It's mostly plastic.
