WolverineMen's Loader 8" Wedge Boot

Best bang for your buck!!
Okay want to start off by saying I’m 43 year old blue collar dude been working In construction for going on 25 years , I have always worn some form of 8” lace up moc toe wedge sole boots for work because they are typically the most comfortable boots you can wear period work or casual, i currently have in my possession 2 pair of $300+ redwings , a pair of Danner and thorogoods around same price point , and I have tried about every other name brand you can think of cause I’m kinda obsessed with work boots lol anyways this is my second pair of these wolverine 8” loaders and I can say they are just as tough just as good looking and more comfortable out of the box than any other boot I have purchased and they are less than a third of the price , at around $100 you can’t buy a better boot in this price range , my last pair I wore for almost 2 years and they were still going strong until I recently left them on the porch and the neighbors dog tore one up lol dogs love real leather ! Anyways I bought these for work but I’m deciding to keep them as my casual boot for now because they are so comfortable. You won’t be disappointed if you pull the trigger on these , side note my true shoe/boot size is 11 med , but I always buy 1/2 size bigger in boots to add a little room for thicker socks in the winter it helps keep the boot comfortable even in a tight laced scenario. I keep my boots Cinched pretty tight I hate the sloppy look of a loose laced boot it serves no purpose in my opinion but I will Say these boots are comfortable even laced up tight because of the soft cushioned tongue. 👍🏼👍🏼

Footwear for tradesmen
These boots look, feel and wear exactly like the ones I have purchased from a retailer. They last for years and feel great even at the end of the day. I have yet to wear them out except for the soles which after a couple years will wear to about 50% on the outside due to my legs and feet. I have always used insoles for arch support so never worn the factory insoles out nor have I worn through the leather or stitching. I have replaced the laces one time on two pairs over the past 7 years but only because of the way I tie them causing wear in a particular spot. Hard to let go of these boots, I wore the last pair a year after received the first pair I purchased through Amazon, simply because they were too comfortable to give up. I did not receive any discount or free anything for this review, these are the best boots I have ever worn, period. 40 years in the plumbing trade and I have tried them all.

Great boot, runs big, minor complaints.
This is my second pair, first was 6in I wore almost everyday. They were always a little too big since I bought wide. I went with the 8in which I like more and are just as easy to put on. Good thick leather and hold up to farmer’s market work, light construction, walking on a roof, dump runs and etc. Only complaint being the stupid slits on the toe welt which are decorative and do nothing but introduce a possible failure point. However it wasn’t an issue on my previous pair of these. The laces are okay and long but aren’t amazing quality. They hold up fine though so no big deal. The tongue could be a little nicer and is also comically puffy so it feels like I’m always having to stuff it in as I lace up. Might see if a cobbler can just remove all the padding. And they are sized like how boots are, always too big for whatever reason. I’m a true 9 and got an 8.5 medium. A touch narrow but they will break in just fine. Comfy out of the box.

Comfortable boots, but maybe they're a little too big?
So to start with, I'm a dude that doesn't have a manual labor job or anything. To be honest, these are the only boots I've even bought. So if you're looking for reviews about durability etc, I can't provide that. But I can tell you these are extremely comfortable and seem to be of a decent quality. The leather and sole seem to be very well put together. The tongues seem a bit sloppy though, with a couple of spare pieces of thread poking out around the border of them. Not major though, and I'm confident they will hold together fine. My biggest complaint is that they seem to run a bit too large. I have tried on other brands in stores such as Justin, Ariat, etc and found I need a wide size in all of them. So I chose the X-wide in these at a 10.5, despite normally shoving my foot in size 11 sneakers. I have found that the width around the mid foot and heel are great, but it seems like there's a bit too much room in the toe area. Maybe it's just my feet, or maybe I should've tried a size 10. Either way, they are comfortable enough that I don't mind the larger size so I'm just going to keep the size I got.

8’ Wolverine Loader Moc Toe Boots
Moc toe boots are not really a thing in OZ…….Probably because the big names such as Red Wing, Thoroughgood, Thursday etc are up over the $400 mark if you can find a stockist. The wolverines look great for the $$$ I paid for them. A completely different beast from the Irish Setter Ashby’s recently purchased but they appear and feel well made. The sole appears to be a lot softer that on the Irish Setters but I’m only intending to wear these for casual use, not for work purposes and I think they will suit this role very well.Based on first opinions, I would purchase these again from the same seller. I’m a happy camper !
