Prince & Knight

Prince & Knight has great art with much more space dedicated to pictures than words. Because it has 3 and 4-syllable words (e.g., appreciate, villagers, overwhelmed), it may be difficult for those just learning to read. But it's perfect for reading to your kids as a bedtime story. It's not too long - you can finish it in 20-minutes even taking time to look at the gorgeous pictures. The story wonderfully affirms same sex relationships with complete acceptance and no stigma. It presents them publicly accepted as they should be. This endearing story makes a great bedtime read and I recommend it to all.

I ordered this book to help my toddler son understand his uncles love each other. This book was great! Not once is the word “gay” ever mentioned but the idea is clearly portrayed in a way that makes the love the focus. Paired with other books that did explain words my son is better able to understand his uncles.

A great book for younger adults to realize love is love and that love between the two male characters is just a good as any other love. Very well written & drawn.

This book is ADORABLE. The style is sweet and whimsical, the story is cute and endearing. I read this to my five-year-old daughter, she was a little confused at first about a "boy marrying a boy instead of any of those princesses". I used this as the gateway to explaining that anyone can marry anyone. This is the first piece of LGTBQA+ children's literature I've ever read, and I have to admit, I got super choked up right towards the end just thinking about how far we've come. We have to teach our children inclusion early on- they're going to build a better, kinder future!

I read this to my furbaby and me and him enjoyed every bit of this story. One of my new favorites, I love the art and story. How sweet and accepting it is. We enjoyed it all. I will be getting the next installment to read for us.

When I read this book to my preschoolers it is always a hit! We love the inclusive fairy tale and the art work is just gorgeous. This book is a must have for any preschool classroom or home.

I gift this over and over again for my gay friends who are getting married! Such a wonderful book

This was a holiday gift for my 5-year-old nephew, bought on the suggestion of my librarian friend who has a copy for themself. We're slowly introducing more queer subjects to my nephew, who has always known me as "Uncle Dill" and used they/them pronouns. This book is not only sweet but has the most beautiful illustrations. The story flows effortlessly, allowing for the progression of characters and arc. There's not a trace of homophobia or non-acceptance, which warms my heart! Queer Princes are just queer princes, allowed to marry the Knights of their heart's choosing. I love this book and would adore more like it.
