unsuitable size
Hi, I took a measurement around my head just above the eyebrows before sending for this, Which measured (57 cm). To be safe I went for the next size up (58cm) and as you can see from above, it was still a very tight. I did slack the tape around the head band but this made very little difference. Since then I have ordered another one at (59 cm) Although there was an improvement it was still a little on the tight side, which I can probabley stretch a bit, But I have ordered another one (60 cm) I have not received this as yet although I have been informed that it has been despatched. Taking all of this in consideration I would suggest that people ordering these should go at least two sizes above your head measurement. This being said the beret's are of very good quality and the small crown means that they do not need shrinking as we had during my army days Thank you. Derek

Go one size larger.
Very good quality I would suggest going one size up for you old boys out there you get a little less material for your buck nowadays..besides let's face it! we all have put on a bit of pork on since our army days. Overall pleased with my purchase.

Comfortable fit, leather cap band feels very high quality.
Ordered a 58, fits perfectly, shaped easily and looks great. You could use it with a cloth (officer type) cap badge, but I'm adapting it for a metal (stay-bright type)cap badge, it will involve cutting a small slit and probably having to sew the back of the badge in place.

Excellent buy and very good value for money
Excellent buy and very good value for money. This required only minimal shrinking and shaping and appears to be a good quality product. Having read other reviews about the sizing being small I went up one size but probably needn't have bothered. Together with a separate badge purchased from EBay (other online sellers are available) I now have a new beret for work that looks good for a fraction of the price of buying from one of the mainstream military clothing tailors.

Tight Fit
Good quality item and well made. Being an ex-member and now a member of the legion, wanted this for the various activites completed over the year. Item came well packaged etc. It is abit small. I ordered a 60 which is my usual size but this was a struggle to get on even with soaking etc.

Crown far too large.
Fast efficient delivery, and well made however the crown is however far too large and will drop too far down the ear. Bought this as I’ve used the same make and size previously however this has been made too large. Now I need to find another seller and type and possibly waste more money

Good Quality beret however difficult to shrink
Small crown should improve shrinking and eliminating access overhang. After (over) numerous attempts submerging in hot (eventually boiling as last resort) and cold water it did not shrink to a good fit! Did not expect this with such a quality beret?

careful of the size you order.
the way to shape a military beret is by soaking it in water and moulding it into shape on your head then letting it dry naturaly. This one shrank to nearly half its size.
