Very good story and plot line.
This was a very good film. The acting was good and the story line and plot excellent. There was a lot of tension in the story line, I would recommend this to friends.

The Price 2dvd
I`e been waiting years for this mni series to come out on dvd. I watched it when it was first broadcast in the 80s. Superb performances by Harriet Walter and Peter Barkworth. Questionable Irish accent by Derek Thompson (of Casualty) but you soon forget that! Harriet Walter always seems such an underrated actor in the UK (even though she`s become a Dame). Definate 5 stars.

Worth Every Minute
This is a very interesting story with a lot of feeling for the time and location in Ireland. I only took one star off due to lack of Subtitles!

A great watch, still great
Had been searching for this for years since it was on TV. The kidnap scene stuck in my head. Really enjoyed it

Slow
Have only seen a couple of episodes, but the frustrating thing is the quality of the DVD. It's fuzzy, and poor sound quality. The fact it was filmed in the 80's and is now very old should have made me think before purchasing.Waiting for the story to pick up........if I bother to watch it all. Not worth £14.00.

What is the right Price?
What’s weird about ‘The Price’ is that, despite being truly classy stuff, it never got an airing beyond its original broadcast. This may have been because it was felt that the IRA stuff in it was very much of its time and would have lost its relevance post the 1998 Good Friday Agreement. If that was the thinking, I vehemently disagree it with it because ‘The Price’ (kidnap and ransom situation, hence the title) is as much about corporate greed, family priorities, love and hate as it is about the internecine struggles in Ireland. And to this day, due to its high production values, it remains hugely watchable. There’s an outstanding cast, director, composer etc. Cast-wise, Peter Barkworth is the big draw here but there is also a top support team of mega successful thesps including Harriet Walter and Simon Jones. 6 one hour episodes 4 stars.
