Nearly Natural Philodendron Hanging Basket Silk Plant

Very pleased with this plant. It looks like the real thing. A funny story is that as I was preparing it for the place I was placing it, I worried about it falling over and spilling potting soil. That's how real it looks...I forgot for a minute it was artificial!!This plant comes with a plastic hanger so you can hang it from a ceiling hook. I am not using it as a hanging plant, but on top of a tall cabinet. It is perfect for this because I never have to worry about taking it down and watering it. I have put battery operated lights around the base of the plant that are on a timer. It looks very nice on this bare spot in the room and the small lights add a nice, warm touch in the evening hours.The plant has long strands of leaves and is not skimpy at all. It does take about an hour of rearranging the leaves to get it to look just right. They are clipped together for shipping, so you need to find the wires holding the strands together and remove them. I'm very particular about how my artificial plants look, so that's why it took me an hour. If you aren't as fussy as me, it would probably only take 15 minutes.It is true as other reviewers have mentioned; the plastic pot and hanger are not very attractive. I'm sure these cheap pots are used as a way to cut down on the weight in shipping these beautiful plants to customers. It's actually a very smart idea. It's fun to find a new container at a local garden shop. When I put it in the new container, I used the plastic bag the plant came in to line the pot and secure the plant. I didn't add any filler since it is on a high shelf and the inside of the plant cannot be seen.I have always liked hanging plants, but never liked having to take them down to water them. It was always a bit of a pain to remove a living plant from any of the macrame-type hangers I've used in the past. If you have a spot that would be perfect for a hanging plant, this would be great!! I'm even thinking of ordering another one as I do have a spot just like that in front of my window. If I do order another plant for hanging, I will add filler around the top of the plant to make it look very real.I highly recommend this plant. I have ordered other Nearly Natural artificial plants and all have been of superb quality.

Just like everyone said, the plastic pot/hook this thing comes in is a joke. I KNEW THAT GOING IN but I also knew I was going to put it in my nice metal planter so NBD, right? A few leaves came off as I was wrangling it into the hanger, but to me the most important thing was that it look realistic, and unless you're nose to leaf with the thing, it does. I didn't notice a funky smell as some people complained about, and overall the plant was fuller than I expected it to be. The price was fine, although if you thought you were getting anything other than a 99-cent-store plastic pot that tips over relentlessly, I can see where you'd be disappointed. If you know you're going to "repot" it (I just stuck the cheap white pot into my metal hanger) then you'll probably love it.

I am the kind of person that has 4 kids, two of which are still in diapers but I want a clean and fresh looking home. I don’t have the amount of sleep and patience that is needed to take care of one more living thing. In knowing that and coming to terms with it, I have decided that artificial plants are the way to go. I am a self proclaimed photographer, thanks to my awesome photoshopping skills that come along with the default filters on my iPhone. I want the fake plants to look real. I know, I have unrealistic expectations at times. So with that said I decided to buy this plant. It will pay for itself after day 5, because real plants don’t do well after the 5 day mark, with no water or sunlight.I hope you enjoyed my review, even if you don’t buy the plant, I won’t get my 10% commission that I wouldn’t have received since my review is just free and I have too much time on my hands and look forward to reading top comments on Amazon. Because that’s what you have to look forward to in life when you get into your 30’s.

Ok- so this faux plant looks tremendous from both far away and even fairly close. HOWEVER you will need a new planter for it (I got a metal brushed nickel hanging planter from amazon). The price is definitely too high for a faux plant in a piece of styrofoam (I had to use duct tape to secure the styrofoam base in my hanging planter) and the garbage plastic planter it comes with, but the end result is so pleasing I have to give the higher rating.

I had a Philodendron that was in a constant state of dying (I'm thinking low light levels) but really liked the spot it was in. I bought the decorative plant to help fill it in.The picture is of the final result. The plant comes with 5 stalks fused together embedded in foam with a white plastic pot. I cut off 2 of the stalks and stuck them into my dying plant soil, wrapping the longer piece around the top before letting it cascade (we have cats) and left some of the live brown leaves sticking out to make it look more real. Heck maybe the real stuff will keep growing.I still have 3/5 of the plant left so I may create another hanging planter or two for other parts of the house.

I paid $36 for this and that price was acceptable for what I received. The white plastic planter pot is horrible and I had to cut the arms off of it and put in a pot. Once hung it’s nice BUT when I went to purchase another today and the price was jacked up to almost $90 I had a good laugh and found something else. This plant is NOT under any circumstances worth that much money. What a Joke!!

I got two of these. They are easy to arrange and they come in a cheap-o-pot with styrofoam base. Which is fine. I jsut threw the pot away and then cut away the styrofoam I didn't need, use paper and then real dirt to "plant" it.It looks real for even pretty close. The branches are easy to snap off, but thats ok because they easily go into the overall arrangement.

This plant looks great. I had a macrame hanging plant holder, so I removed the plastic hanging sections of the pot the plant came in and just put it in my macrame. It is meant for corner spaces, so the backside doesn’t have nearly as many leaves at the front. I took off one star only because of the backside of the plant.

This plant was not looking good when it arrived and the hanger that was attached to it was bent so I cut it off with wire cutters and had to make my own hanger for it. After taking the time to spread out each leave, make a macrame plant hanger and hang it on the ceiling it was worth it but only if your up for it. The plant looks semi real but is not worth 75$.

Bought this plant based on a YouTube recommendation. I bought this for the top of a bookshelf with little natural light and it is perfect! Looks very natural, just need to arrange the trailing vines when you remove the plant from the box. I did find this to be a little pricey, but am still glad for the purchase!

I quite love this hanging basket.When it arrived, I spent maybe 3-4 minutes separating and shaping, but I hung it in my kitchen by the window and it looks absolutely fantastic. I get tons of compliments and people have even asked how long I've been growing it.The Nearly Natural prices may seem a tad expensive for silk plants, but you CANNOT go wrong buying one... they are worth what you pay.

Not as natural looking as I had hoped. Somewhat disappointing.

Looks very realistic, worth it.
