The Unsung Hero of Mail Delivery!
I recently installed the **Architectural Mailboxes UMBS0B06AM Mounting Board**, and let me tell you, this isn’t just a piece of metal; it’s the VIP section for your mailbox! Before this masterpiece graced my home, my mailbox was hanging on for dear life, swaying like it was in a wind tunnel. My neighbors probably thought it was a trendy new art installation titled “The Struggle of Mail.” But now? My mailbox is the Beyoncé of the neighborhood—confidently mounted and ready to receive mail in style. The installation was surprisingly easy! I’m no handyman, but even I managed to get it up without turning it into a DIY horror story. I had it mounted faster than you can say, “Where’s my package?” Just a few screws, and voilà! It’s like my mailbox went from the kid’s table to the adult’s dinner party.- Sturdy as a tank—no more wobbly mailbox drama.- Installs in a jiffy (even for people who consider a hammer an advanced tool).- Elevates the entire mailbox game—my junk mail now feels like it’s arriving at a five-star hotel.- The mailbox is now so fancy that I’m worried my bills will start showing up dressed better than I am.**Would I recommend?**Absolutely! If your mailbox needs a reliable and stylish home, this mounting board is the way to go. Just be prepared for all your mail to start arriving with a little extra flair. Who knew a piece of metal could bring so much joy?

Fantastic mount, BUT...
OK, so I am giving this mount 5 stars because it id sturdy, and it did what I wanted, which was to mount to a 4x4 post without having any of the mount showing like the plastic ones. I wanted a clean look, and this accomplished the goal well. It is listed as A,B,C,D compatible, but my mailbox was and F, and this still fit perfectly for the way I was mounting it. It has the standard 10' x 4" pattern that most mailboxes I have seen have, so will work for a lot of applications. It came with mounting hardware that looks like it will work for a variety of application, though I only needed the one. If you are mounting it to the top of a 4x4 post, you will need a few screws to do that.NOW, for the but... First let me say I don't want to take anything away from Architectural Mailboxes themselves, as the problems mprobably have had nothing to do with them, and be entirely Amazon's fault, however it does mean I am not attaching a picture of the mount itself, nor can I speak to exactly what hardware is included. The first one I ordered had me waiting to finish my project for two weeks, which it said in advance, so that was fine. Then the date was pushed back a couple days. Then at the end of that the order was just cancelled with no explanation. Customer service "helpfully" pointed out that it was showing as in stock, and I could just order it again, which I did, and waited another week. Then when it arrived, what they had sent me was a used, returned item that was damaged. It looked like someone had mounted it to something, banged on it, insulted its mother, and then sent it back. Normally I would have sent it right back, but I really needed a mailbox! So I can't tell you if it slipped right over a 4x4 post, because I had to take a hammer to it and straighten it into a position that would fit over mine. That said, if you find that a new one doesn't fit, it IS pretty simple to adjust the tabs, so it should work for you, and hopefully yours isn't all warped and scratched. My guess is that when new this is just a great mount all-around, but sadly because of the condition I can't confirm that. Amazon IS responsible for shipping the item, so I blame them, though I don't know if they had supply issues with the actual company. IF it shows as in stock with regular shipping times, I can say it is worth a shot, at least for a 4x4 post mount. If Amazon is showing extended shipping times, be prepared to wait, and inspect what you receive.

Great replacement for plastic mounting board
This is a better and easy to install alternative to my original plastic mounting board that cracked presumable from heavy snow weight in winters. The washers have a plastic lining that makes everything extra secure and tight, albeit takes a little elbow grease and right tool to tighten.

Works with the Architectural Mailboxes 8830RZ-10
This bracket fit the Architectural Mailboxes 8830RZ-10 I bought. Instructions were clear. Mounted easily on a 4x4 post. All hardware was included. I had to slightly drill out the holes in the mailbox to fit the machine screws and lock nuts included. NOTE: because this is universal fit bracket, once installed, I noticed at least 4 hole that matched up to the mailbox and bracket. If I left them open, bugs and spiders could get inside. I added duct tape to the top of the bracket before I laid the mailbox on top of the bracket and installed the mailbox through the 4 side holes which matched up exactly.

Reused my old one, this is not as good
I got a new, larger mailbox and this was the matching mounting plate, so I got it too. I removed my old mailbox and mounting plate and sawed some of the mounting post off as the new mailbox is much taller. When I started to install the new mounting plate, I saw that the stiffening flanges on the sides blocked the holes where I needed to drill into the post and drive the screws. The old mounting plate had holes in the flanges that lined up with the screw holes, and it turned out the new mailbox would fit on it, so I reused it. You can still use this mounting plate, but your screwdriver will not go straight into the screw heads, and drilling the screw holes will be harder. With my old plate, I got it leveled and drilled the holes into the post, and then drove the screws, all with the plate in place. Quick, precise, and easy. Can't do that with this mounting plate.

This is a hefty base plate with lots of mounting options
This is a well built and hefty base plate for architectural mail boxes. It mounts to 4 x 4 wood and metal posts tho it's most stable design is to mount to a hollow 4 x 4 metal post. Contrary to a number of answers to a question I asked about this post, it DOES mount to 4 X 4 horizontal wood bars as well-- the typical mail box posts. It has spacers that allow it to be mounted above the horizontal bar and then easily to the mail box. So it pretty much covers all the abases for ways to mount to standard PO boxes mounts. I would replace all aluminum wood screws with steel screws from the hardware store as aluminum screws strips so easily- especially if you are using pressure treated 4 bys.
