Superb Pine Bookcase Offered at a Very Reasonable Price
For those who need a bookcase to hold both small and medium-sized books--with room on top for larger volumes, this simple and sturdy pine bookcase is better than most products of its kind on the market, dollar-for-dollar. I recently bought one, and I've assembled it easily. The stain is well done overall. It is not a "refined" piece of furniture (don't expect a bookcase finished with multiple sandings with extra fine sand paper and multiple layers of stain or sealer). But it matches well my other pine bookcases made by my father years ago. I could not be happier with this purchase; I just ordered a second one. This product is so much better than the typical particle board bookcase found in large retail stores. There's nothing like genuine pine to hold one's books, and the size is just perfect for small spaces, too. Update (10/13/22): Both bookcases are in my upstairs hallway and hold cherished volumes of children's literature and music books. I chose the walnut stain for both bookcases, and assembled them carefully, occasionally using my drill to put in a longer screw where it felt like it would help. The bookcases are solid, and the walnut stain has a bit of a shiny sheet to it. Each time I pass by them, I grin just a bit, because they fit right in with all my other pine bookcases that I have had for years. I like the rustic feeling, and I still feel that they are a very good value for the money. I may purchase another one in the future, or contact the company to build a narrower one for a smaller wall downstairs. Update: 04/03/2023--I continue to be very happy with the two rustic pine bookcases I purchased last year for my upstairs hallway. I just purchased a third one for my downstairs writing studio, and it arrived today. This new bookcase will allow me to have books just steps away from my reading/writing desk and computer. I plan to purchase a fourth custom-made one for a slightly smaller space in my writing studio. This is a great company offering a simple and well-made rustic pine bookcase. I could not be happier with my purchases, and am looking forward to purchasing from them again in the future.

Sturdy, all wood and beautiful!
I have been searching high and low for real all-wood bookcases. They are so so hard to find. I found this one and decided to get it. I am so glad I did. It arrived early and was incredibly well packaged. You can tell it was handmade and made with care. I cannot wait to keep this in the family and pass it down one day. I cannot recommend it enough. I have used Amazon for years and this is the only review I have ever written- if that gives you any idea how pleased I am. Buy buy buy!!!

Sturdy, but meh on the paint chosen.
I gave it 4 stars for it's sturdiness, but the paint was not to my liking. the color was fine, but would it kill them to use a gloss paint or add a coat of clear coat gloss? It wasn't just flat. It felt chalky. No, it won't come off on you, but it is an extremely flat paint that felt like a chalk board. I would value it at $200, but not $300. If they changed the paint, then yes, It would be worth more to me. Oh! If you buy this, it helps to have a small rechargeable drill. I bought one prior to buying this new on Ebay for $35. I didn't check if Amazon has them, but Amazon has everything.

Solid piece - Very happy overall.
I had been looking for this specific style (and unfinished) for nearly a year before I stumbled across this piece: just a simple bookcase. Although I think its a bit over priced (and that is only my unexperienced expectation as a simple piece), it is a VERY solid (heavy!) piece of furniture. Not a scrap of particle board.Kudo's on the packing, except that I couldn't tell that it came almost fully assembled. Opening the box was easy enough, but everything was so securely packed (not a bad thing), that it took a bit to get (what I later learned were ) just the top and bottom pieces out, and then to realize the rest was one single piece, and how to get it out.In the box were three pieces: one a preassembled box with shelves, and two "finish" boards for the top and bottom, and a bag with screws and wood plugs.Only the very top and bottom pieces need to be attached, but the extra added bonus to attaching these pieces yourself is that you can see nothing is hidden, and the wood used is not just a veneer. The top/bottom pieces are clearly marked where to line up, the the holes are predrilled and countersunk. Be careful, though when screwing down the top/bottom pieces, as you may break into the inside "finished" box (yep, I did that, but not deep fortunately -- barely noticeable).Wood "plugs" are included to cover the screws/fill in the screw holes. Plugs for the bottom screws were even included (who's gonna see the bottom anyway? Yet they included plugs for the bottom... that's classy).Yes, I like this bookcase. Although I'd have liked to have seen a longer version (additional 18-20 inches or so), but given the cost of this one, I might not have bought either. Cost aside, I do like this piece as it ticked all of the other boxes for me, and I admit I'll probably buy one or two more in the next couple of months.
