Monster Hunter World: The Board Game: Ancient Forest

I been a Monster Hunter player since the first game on the PS2 and I been an avid board game player for half as long.The Monster Hunter board game is an excellent capture of the beloved video game without all the grindy hassle!Like the description says, Monster Hunter: The Board Game is a 1-4 player, arena combat game.Players select the type of hunter they wish to play base on their weapon, Greatsword, Dual Blades, Bow or Sword & Shield are the four presented in this base game.With the adventure book players will choose which monster they wish to hunt and follow a set of "choose-your-own-path" style clues to help gather resources and materials before finally tracking down the monster.When the monster is found, players will move, position, and attack the monster using a deck of cards assigned to their particular type of weapon. Combat consists of attacking different parts of the monster to weaken it and gather useful monster materials to craft better weapons and armor after the hunt!While the game is a big box game, it doesn't require the greedy table space like other games of it's nature and set up is a breeze. The rules are also simple and easy to follow with visual aids to help in the combat scenarios.Included in the box are 4 highly detailed miniatures representing each hunter as well as 4 highly detailed monster miniatures, all of them are also perfect for any mini-painting hobbyist out there as well!The game is also in the realm of a "living" board game, or at least a persistent one, as players are able to continue hunting and carrying on the same adventure, constantly upgrading weapons and armor and fighting more and more difficult monsters through out different play sessions.There are various expansions available to add more monsters and hunters to the game, as well as the Wildspire Wastes, which can be added to this game or played as a standalone game itself.All-in-all, Monster Hunter: The Board game is an amazing adventure, and while I can't say it can be counted as a family game, any group of board game lovers, solo hunters, or avid video gamers will love this!

Family loves the game. My son and I play the video game, and this makes it more personal. We’re also miniature painters, and these figures are incredible looking. They arrived in perfect condition, and fast delivery.

I love Monster Hunter and this board game, tho it take a lot of space to play, is a load of fun. The Monster and Hunter figures and alone worth the price of this box set. A must have for any Monster Hunter fan!

I already played a couple of games with my friends, we all loved it so far, the rule book is a little long but once the quest starts the flow of the game is smooth and straight forward, I recommend it for both fans and for newcomers.

It helps if you are already pretty familiar with the video game it is based on.

the minis on this game are beautiful can't wait to paint them.the game cardboard is very good material and very detailed.Check on the website on how to set a quick game to star before you do the campaign.
