Fun gift!
My 10-year-old loves this! He's a big fan of Dr. Who. He likes the 20-questions style of game-- so this is perfect. That is comes shaped like the Tardis is a big bonus!

Looks and Plays Great.
Cosmetically: The toy measures about 5 1/2 inches tall (to the tip of the lantern) by 2 3/4 inches wide and deep. The windows do not light up, but the lantern does and it stays on and slowly blinks on and off for a while after you stop playing with it (it is extremely dim though, and I almost cant see it lit in a lighted room). Sadly the 20Q kit does not make any materialization noises (no noises in fact - not even beeps), nor do the doors open. However, the plastic mold is sharp and nicely detailed. The stickers and decals are extremely detailed and correctly proportioned. The blue plastic is dark and correctly matches the Tardis on the show, although there is no wood grain texture on the plastic. The windows are nicely painted white and off-white. The battery compartment is placed smartly on the bottom of the toy, out of view. The buttons are large enough for adult fingers, and they feel well built and firm to the touch. The toy feels nice and "weighty", not light like some cheap toy.The Game: Think of something related to the Dr Who show - classic or new series. The 20Q toy asks around 16-24 questions and makes several guesses along the way. Answer "Yes", "No", "Maybe", or "skip" to each question. The game uses several quotes from the TV series in between questions and guesses (fun at first but can get a little annoying after a while). There is a button to go back in the sequence of questions, and two buttons to speed up or slow down the scrolling of the questions and comments on the little screen. I dont know much about the classic series, but I have seen every episode of the new series. It seems to be running about 50% accuracy in guessing what I'm thinking. That's amazing in my opinion.Overall: I give it a 5 star rating for its looks and playability, but knock off one star because (for its price) it doesnt make any sound - not even a beep.., nor do the doors open. This toy would have been "off the charts" amazing if it made noises from Dr Who (Tardis materialization, or Dalek "exterminate", etc...), or if the doors opened to show the interior of the Tardis, but alas, it does neither. All that being said, its still a great toy that looks wonderful on my desk.
