Steens Richmond 2 Plus 3 Deep Chest of Drawers, Pine - Brown

Update: took me over 5 months of grief getting Amazon a-z guarantee to refund this as the seller explained away all refund requests as technical issues. I tried 3 times to get company to do the right thing they demanded photos, then part numbers then photos labeled with part numbers. Claimed I put the backboard on wrong so unit was wonky so hence 1 draw being out of alignment. Once in use none of the draws shut, the unit was in an alcove exacting it's width so if I was even a mill out the set wouldn't fit! I still don't know if I even got my £30 back from having to send the package from my own pocket back to the vendor because they were too cheapskate to send a courier to collect like every other decent seller on Amazon ever! Amazon should remove ban and block this company because they breached trading standards. Fyi I'm an engineer and expert at flatpacks and I didn't appreciate being told it's my fault for your shoddy warped wet shattered produce falling short!Pros- really good instructions only fault was that it didn't say on the instructions which side is painted/which edge. The draws are some if the best flat pack construction for sturdiness I've seen but they're the ONLY pine other than the feet and knobs in the entire pack! The draw fronts are MDF poorly painted on only one side the spray on paint rubs off in places with friction from a finger rub.....ConsYou need to scroll right down to the about description to see that the majority of this ISN'T pine! It's badly painted MDF. The workmanship is shoddy, the nails dont even work theirs no nail placement tool so out of 50 I miss angled at least 2 causing visible damage. The finished product has a warped twisted draw that won't shut properly. The screw pins shattwr a plastic cuff when screwed in. The draw runners are already pitting, the pine is warped and the MDF is only painted on one side. The gap at the top could have been avoided by putting a facia in but they've chosen to use a pine divider to hang the top two draws in the middle from the lid of the draw set. For the price and description I expected better. If I paid less than 100 quid I'd feel better value but this is on par with all the other flat packs and at least I would say they dont leave you with a billion lists of what's wrong! I'm disgusted and feel scammed by this item. So utterly disappointed. The photos I've upl8aded will back up what I've stated in my review. The people putting this together with the cheapest items that will last 3 minutes need sacking cos the design and the instructions eyc are spot on. The materials are Chinese in standards, with no quality check.Oh and I had spares....so perhaps those folks who complained about not enough screws has worked or perhaps I just got given more from someone else's boxes.Still had damaged items..practically all.

Seems sturdy enough, just a shame the packaging was in tatters. Some of the drawer edges and corners are cracked, however it’s functional. It’s mostly MDF also, cheap drawer bases. The colour is more off white than pure white. Better build quality than argos/b&q - on a par with IKEA. Dead easy as a 1 person build, took an hour or so. Would be helpful if parts were labelled and little stickers A, B, C etc instead of the complicated system. Drawer rails are robust. If they would simply sort out the packaging might have given better review. Really hacks me off to pay this much for damaged stuff.

easy to build, however took hours, looks lovely in my room, the only thing I am very disappointed in is the fact that the corners of my chest of drawers were damaged, their had been a crack on them, I noticed it as soon as I opened the box. I needed this product urgently, and it arrived a day late so I had to assemble it. I intend to receive a percentage of money back.

Absolutely rubbish collapsed I. Less than a year and only held baby clothes

Great chest of drawers. The three big drawers hold a phenomenal amount of clothing. Made such a difference to my bedroom. I ordered two sets - one came with two broken feet but these were placed at the back - a little disappointing but they don't show. I would actually recommend these.

Very difficult to assemble but sturdy once done

These are poor quality.The ball bearings come out quite easily, which means that it’s difficult to open the drawers.This will happen to most of the drawers.I wouldn’t recommend these and wish I purchased something that was better quality.

looks good quality. deep drawers and seems sturdy. would buy again
