Needed for anthropology course
This book was required but overall it was a good read. Ended up with an A so it was easily read although the course itself was challenging. As long as you enjoy anthropology you will enjoy this book.

Creased books
I spent 75 dollars on a book that is bent and creased. So annoying. This wasn't the only book to arrive messed up. 4 of the 9 that I purchased were torn or creased.

Great and easy to follow
This is a great book of you want to learn and see beliefs, magic, and rituals in a different light. Having used this book for the class gave me a new appreciation the things other cultures do different.

Disappointing doesn't cover it...
I had high hopes for this textbook since it involved anthropology. However, it disappoints on multiple levels.First, it is Christian-based, which is not what anthropology is all about. Second, it gives a bad rap to all anthropologists out there. Third, I would never recommend this book or its authors for a college class if given the opportunity. It sucks because it rips into other Crafts, religions, and philosophies and clarifies that it will only view Abrahamic beliefs (bible-based orthodoxies) as viable. No other religion is tolerated or accepted as remotely positive. So yes, very disappointed in the book's contents, and with the authors, who're supposedly anthropologists. They utterly failed to go and speak to others about whom they're flaming in their work.Additionally, I will be returning it sooner than planned. I have no reason to read any further chapters because it sickens me. I wanted to be introduced to the worldview of anthropology differently.

Small print & no pictures!
The print is way too small for me and there are no pictures! That is one of my favorite thing about anthropology books. It is for school but I’m disappointed.
