Disobey the Duke if You Dare, Vol. 1

I originally bought this as a prime day purchase but frankly after reading it i’m going to to need more of them. I sincerely hope Manta plans on publishing a volume two as well as more books like this, especially “Under the Oak Tree” which it advertises in the back. Though I would read a physical copy of “The Tainted Half”. Aside from this I am champing at the bit to preorder volume 2 and find out what’s going on next. I will also say I really like their choice of cover, especially the holographic spot foil. It’s certainly something I’ve never seen before on these kinds of things and a very welcome addition to my bookshelf. The story itself might be hit or miss depending on personal tastes, definitely above a 13+ Age rating though. Nothing gets shown but there’s a lot implied usually positions and such. Maybe 16+ would be more appropriate.

I love the art in this book. I can tell it went through a very high quality printing process due to its thick pages and clean shading throughout every panel. I hope the next book is as high quality as this one was!

This came across my recommended reading list. I am glad that I got it, and can't wait for the second vol. Now it did throw me for a loop when I received it and it was wrapped. For people who don't know that is to draw attention to the age range in which the content of the book has. IE violence, language or even sexual content. On the back of the book it is rated 13 and up. Now it doesn't show anything in this book, but I feel like it is implied on some of the first few pages. I feel like it should be rated older teen because I wouldn't let my younger teanagers read it till they get older.

Firstly I’m going to point out that the book claims to be 13+ appropriate.I’m just going to flat out disagree. The book uses a lot of disguised language and plays along the line, but it is unquestionable what is happening. They’re doing the dirty and someone might’ve had *taco* for dinner.She talks about how this is the first husband that didn’t make *the experience* hurt or be boring. Etc.I don’t say any of that as a dink against the book, but I wanted to warn folks because I do think the age labelling is flat out wrong. I don’t know if I would label it as super adult but I wouldn’t say it was suitable for tweens either. I don’t know.This is a more mature story here. So other than the content warning is it any good?Well firstly I want to point out that this book is PRETTY. It has purple pages and the cover is sparkly and shimmery. The pictures don’t do it justice. I also like the art. It’s always a bonus when it’s in full color. I do plan to pick up future installments.But it’s a pretty plain bread and butter story. “Don’t look at me I’m ugly. I’m a monster.” and of course she thinks this man is an absolute hunk. And he is. We see a glimpse of his “true self” and it’s equally super hot. He’s supposed to be cruel but he’s actually a super nice guy yada yada yada.And maybe I’m just still in the establishing phase of the story, but I don’t expect this to change. I haven’t read it on the app it’s on which has more completed chapters (which they give a free 30 day subscription to with the book), but overall it’s generic filler. I’ve read better and I’ve read worse.

Love it! The book is so beautiful. The story is great. Can't wait for more volumes. Hope they will release more books. I have a bookcase dedicated to manga's and I would love to fill it with physical copies of the stories on Manta. Would love the beau and the beast , my husband my sister and me , under the oak tree , the golden forest and many more. If they release more I think I will be penniless. Again.... love it

really good story, need vol 2 please!!!

The art is gorgeous and the book comes wrapped and actually new. I admit I haven’t read the story until I bought this in physical but Im really pleased with it and can’t wait for volume 2 😌
