Best tire I've found for rocky desert--minimal chunking
For our terrrain (maybe 25% sand, 50% usually loose singletrack, 25% rocks, some with sharp edges) here in Northern NV, I haven't found anything better. The IT hooks up well until the edges round off after about 10 rides, and then a quick cut with a Knobby Knife brings it back to near-new performance for a few rides. Knobs will occasionally tear off and chunk, but much less than with any other rear I've tried. The sidewalls are very stiff on these tires, which may be a good thing for you or not. It makes them difficult to mount, but since they last longer than most that's a minor annoyance. I run Tubeliss F/R, and they are a major PIA to get on with that system, but the stiff walls allow me to run as little as 6psi with no problems.I'm running them on a KTM 200, so not ludicrous power. People in this area seem to agree that even for bigger bikes these are one of the best choices for a rear, however. It's worth noting that I've never heard anything good about the front version. I run Bridgestone 403s with good success.

Great Value, Quality
These tires are the best value out there for the riding / racing I do. I race hare scrambles and ride in rocky, muddy, sometimes pavement and this tire has proven to hold up without chunking out or wearing out too fast. So, I get good traction in just about anything and good wear, pretty hard to find. I used this tire for years with normal inner tubes with no issues however, I just recently started using the tubliss inner tubes and they just simply make the traction amazing.

Long Lasting
Living in the Rockies we chew through tires. Get something too hard you sacrifice grip,. Get something too soft and it's gone in a week. This "hard" compound performs VERY well in the mountains, grips slick rock while traversing, and in the sands of the single track. I will by more!

Lasts long, works great with TuBliss, very reasonable price, quality product.
Installed this on my KTM 300 XC-W and it is fantastic, couldn't be more happy with it. I've had it on for about 20 hrs and it's still looking great, haven't noticed any drawbacks or unusual wear and I ride hard. Just put on 75 trail miles in Northern MN last weekend.I do run TuBliss with it as well which works fantastic with this tire, terrific combo. Fairly priced too.

Excellent rocky mountainous tires for dirt bikes
Only tires we buy for our dirt bikes. These do not shred on rocky mountain trails like many others we have tried through the years. We use them front and back.

My favorite tire by far
My favorite tire by far. I always run these on my bikes as they hold up better than the Dunlops Kenda, pirelli and Michelin. I’ve tried them all and I always come back to the maxxis
