Kona T Mat - Triathlon Transition Mat, Neoprene

I purchased this for my husband. It works much better than the towel he was using at his triathlons.

Great Material

I was looking for a good transition mat to organize my gear during races and found this on Amazon. It looks like there are several mats out there so I decided to get one of each of the more highly rated ones to compare first (Speed Hound T0, Kona T Mat, and SLS) before deciding on which one to keep. The SLS one arrived all folded in quarters and created a crease (see photo) which was annoying. The Kona T Mat looked fine but is made of neoprene, which I'm not a fan off for environmental reasons. The other down side of the Kona T Mat is that the bottom side is very slippery. I actually didn't realize this key difference until I opened the Speed Hound T0 mat and saw that it was made of a different material that's soft microfiber material on the top and grippy on the bottom. Many transition areas are on grass which gets condensation in the morning and a mat that doesn't have a grippy bottom will slide around. In fact, the Kona T Mat slides around even when it's not wet, and it's also slippery on top, which can only get worse after my swim - this was the deal breaker for me. Ok, so now I'll sound crazy but the Speed Hound mat also has an awesome design! Lastly, the Speed Hound one came with a quick dry towel which I plan to use when drying off my feet after the swim. I'm glad I got all 3 to compare and came out with a winning choice that I didn't feel had any compromises.In summary, I got 3 mats that looked good and had good reviews, ended up with the Speed Hound T0 mat for these reasons:- size seems right for Ironman transition areas- soft on top, grippy on bottom- comes with a quick dry towel- love the design!- "Inspiration" area is very cool
