I am really happy with the Seiko watch
I am really happy with the Seiko watch. I purchased an Orient blue ray about 2 years ago and it is no longer working. The hour and minute hand did not match each other correctly after about a year. Then the trim around the date fell off a few month ago and stopped the hands from moving. So I purchased the Seiko to take its place. I wished I had just purchased the Seiko first. It’s craftsmanship is far superior. It keeps time perfectly and stays wound for a long time when I’m not wearing it. It also looks much classier. It is built to last. The Seiko may cost a little more than the Orient but it is worth every penny.

Owned SKX007J1 for 1 year now
As of May 2019, I have owned this watch for 13 months. It was fantastic up until about three months ago when it started to lose 5 minutes per day. I have contacted Amazon and Watchseller to see how they will remedy the situation. Basically the watch does not keep correct time.I want to love this watch. I am still hopeful it will start to keep correct time.

It's a legend and easy to understand why now that I have one
It's a legend and easy to understand why now that I have one. For the money the quality is incredible. Not crazy about the band, but after I trimmed it a little is feels pretty comfortable although still rather stiff. Yes I'm a diver, but I don't use watches and charts although I wouldn't hesitate to with the SKX.That being said you can find this watch for WAY less money through other venues. It was selling for $234 when I purchased. I like the Amazon prime venue because returns are so easy if you're not happy.I installed a Barton quick release silicone watch band and it's very comfortable.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ASOGBYG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

OK Watch. Love the style but not the quality. Only took me three times.
Strike 1: ordered the K version of the 007. Didn't work out of the box. I can't think of a single product I've ordered from Amazon in the last 10 years that was dead on arrival.Strike 2: ordered the J version, anticipating made in Japan version would be top quality. The bezel was chipped in multiple locations. It should have never left the plant.Bunt: most recent J version is OK except the date is not aligned with the window. I'm tired of returning, and I'm over the notion that Seiko makes great quality watches. If you want good quality, check out Orient. Much better brand even though part of same parent company.Update 6/15 - this watch does keep good time, at least out of the box. Just a few seconds a day off.

Great watch.
I had been looking at this watch for a while and decided to finally purchase it. It came in a Seiko box with the pillow, tags, and manual. Blue protective film on the back. I've had this watch for 2 weeks now and have been wearing it every day. It seems to be keeping time very well. I love this watch because of it's simplicity: time, day of the week and date. Nothing that I don't need. Chronographs are nice but too complicated for me.

Stopped working after 3 weeks
I was stoked on this watch, it's mechanical design, and the fact that in theory it should work forever. Less than 30 days of owning and my SKX (J1!!) is running 5 seconds fast PER MINUTE. It gains over 2 hours in the course of a day. Returning as soon as I'm able to and I will update review if it's replaced with a properly working one.

Like the previous two
I just received my third SKX007J. Like the previous two, this one had a loose chapter ring and rattling movement. All three are being returned. It’s a shame that a once solid maker like Seiko has such awful QC these days.

Love Seiko better than higher priced and higher valued time pieces
An everyday understated mans watch. Ca afford Breitling, Rolex, Omega; have Breitling but just love the overall look of the Seiko Divers. Have several types; Pepsi, Mod,76, 83, 94 vintage, solar, and current 2019 model. ALL DIVERS. Buy only the ones that have Japan stamped below the 6 hour marker. You are gambling with any other types.
