Uchida 140-C-1 Marvy Deco Color Extra Fine Paint Marker, Black

The ink does tend to run out of the pen when the tip is engaged, but luckily its easy to spread & fill in space. I bought the light pink and was worried that I might have to apply two coats, but the color is very opaque & covers well. I was changing a color from peach to baby pink & coverage was very important. It really did the job! I'll buy more pens if I need a specific color. I love the fine tip!

When we use a saw to cut our glass for a stained glass panel the water from the saw will rinse off just about every other marker and most other paint pens make too large a mark. Deco fine tip paint pens are the best products we’ve found for this job! We use them almost every day!

I work with stained glass. As such, pretty much everything begins with a pattern. Once you have a pattern, you glue it to the piece of glass you want to use. From there, you can either cut around the pattern, or you can trace the pattern piece on the glass. I do the latter using this fine line paint pen. Sometimes, I will lay the pattern on my light box, lay the piece of stained glass on top of the pattern, and then trace the pattern again, using this fine line paint pen.Why not just use a sharpie? Once you have cut the glass you need to grind it and the water from the grinding bit tends to wash the sharpie off. The line from the paint pen stays put! That’s why I always use a fine line paint pen, and this is the best I’ve found. Not only would I buy this item again, I have; over and over.

As long as you follow the simple instructions you should have no problems with this pen. I’ve had a few leak on me, in the beginning but not anything major. I have found if these are kept in an area with higher humidity than normal they do tend to appear dried out & unable to flow as needed. Once they are moved into a room with less humidity they will work again after a few hours.My only real complaint is the cost. Much to high for what you are getting. This is my reason for not giving 5 stars.

I needed a paint marker for plastic static-stick-on car oil change labels (see photo - I obscured the auto parts store name in the photo). I put the labels on the windshield so I don't forget about the next oil change. Regular Sharpies worked, except heat and sunlight fade the Sharpie marks so they become unreadable before the next oil change. From my reading, I don't think acrylic paint markers would be durable and fade-proof on this plastic material and in the hot sun - so I went for this oil-based paint marker, and so far, so good. It looks like the paint is going to stay on, and, it being pigmented paint, I don't think it's going to fade between oil changes.FYI, the tip is exactly 1mm diameter. I'd prefer a little thinner tip (like 0.7mm like many acrylic markers), but this works to fit what I need to put on the labels if I'm careful to write small.You can prevent problems people complain about by following the directions on the package (I get the impression people don't read and follow directions, and then complain when things don't work): Store it in a flat position (not standing up vertically); shake well before each use; push the tip in and pump it on a horizontal surface to open the internal valve to 'prime' the tip with paint - stop when tip is wet with paint; write the needed info.; carefully wipe excess paint from tip after each use; put cap on securely to keep the tip from drying out between uses; store between 60 and 85°F.

I use paint pens all the time for crafts. The first one came and immediately broke (tip came loose and was unusable) so I sent back for replacement which is also useless because no amount of pressure or lack there of keeps the paint from gushing out.And the smell is awful. Never had a pen that smelled so awful. Like, headache awful.

Works great just what I needed!
