CHEAP , POOR QUALITY RUBBISH THAT'S A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME & MONEY!!
I bought 2 of these for the front and back doors of my old farmhouse to replace the more expensive ones that I've had for the past 5 years that were starting to look a bit tatty. The old ones were great because they not only let a breeze flow through the house when the doors were open and keep the 'wildlife' out but also let the 2 cats and dog go in and out when they needed. These however, WHAT a waste of money!! After much cursing and swearing trying to get them lined up properly, my husband and I finally managed to get them on the doors. Thankfully, the front door has a wooden door enabling us to fix them on with the tacks but we were only able to use the velcro on the back door because it's UPVC. The mesh is so lightweight that the SLIGHTEST breeze that flows through the house causes both the screens to open up, allowing all the insects to fly in and being in the countryside, they are plentiful. In the past week (we're only on week 3), several of the magnets have fallen off and the (not) sticky velcro on the back door has had to be stuck back onto the door frame so many times that I've lost count! This morning was the final straw when I opened the back door to find half of the screen had came off the door frame because the sticky velcro had basically melted and although I stuck it back on several times, both halves of it are now lying in heaps on the doorstep resulting in me posting my justifiably negative review!! Unfortunately, the packaging that these came in were in the recycling bin from day one, otherwise I'd be returning them with a rather strong-worded letter!I'd STRONGLY recommend that if you're after fly screens for your doors, PLEASE invest a bit more money and buy some that actually WORK, stay up and serve the purpose that they're supposed to - keeping the insects OUT!!

I Modified it to Be a Window Screen, to Prevent Nibbling Insects Coming In. Worked Quite Well
These fly curtains are great. I bought and used it for putting up at my teenage sons bedroom window. My son always has his window open and sleeps with his window open all year round so of course is an invitation for unwanted nibbling insects, who seem to love my lad for some reason. I wish the manufacturer actually made window ones to fit, but for the cheap price I thought it was worth try this one and seeing if it would work if I cut it down to size. I measured the window and cut to size. The problem was that the edging strips were where the double-sided Velcro strips needed to go to attach the screen. I improvised a bit as the Velcro strips weren't strong enough. I used thin hooked side of a Velcro strip from the previous thin fly net I had at his window. I used UHU Glue to attach the Velcro taps around the double-glazing frame of the window. It does actually fit great. My son is really pleased with the outcome and said it was better than no screen and being bitten. The magnet snap fastening allows him to open the net to open and close the window if required. We're quite impressed, but would save the hassle if they could devise a window sized version.

OK for wooden frames, aluminium not so much
I bought two of these, one for our garden door (aluminium) and one for our back door (wood frame) and have two differnt outcomes. For our aluminium door it is not a very good fit. For one thing, it doesn't automatically close (the door is 1m wide) when you go through and you have to push it closed behind you for the magnets to take hold. And second, and more importantly, it is delivered not with one long strip of velcro, that you glue to the outside of the frame, no. It comes with ten two-inch velcros that you have to glue to the frame on the one side, and to the net on the other. Despite having cleaned the frame thoroughly prior to hanging it, the glue sticks to neither the frame nor the fabric. After hanging it last night, I found the whole thing on the floor this morning. Not really the intended use! Also leaves rather large gaps at the sides for the mosquitos to fly through. On the wooden door it works much better. In addition to the velcro, they also deliver a set of small pins that can be hammered into the wooden frame. This door is also slimmer than the other (80cms) meaning I can pleat it a bit for extra room. Here the curtain does what it is meant to do: Stay up and close by itself.Ultimately, we'll end up buying additional strips of velcro and sew it on the mesh while hopefully having something that sticks better to the frame. That's not what it should be...

a decent temporary solution
I found that this item worked, but only for a short period. It consists of two mesh 'curtains' that completely cover the opening to a door. These curtains need to be secured to both the top and sides of the door frame. Each curtain connects to the other via magnets. So, on being sealed, the mesh completely covers the door area - allowing you to open a door without insects being able to gain access. And when you want to go through, simply move the magnets apart - thereby providing an opening to walk through. As such, you get both ease of access and fresh air - without the flies! But ... attaching the mesh to your door frame can result in minor damage. The mesh easily tears. And the magnets are not very durable. In consequence, there are limitations to this product.Once properly in place, this worked fine for up to 2 weeks - and, from then on, the tears in the fabric combined with the fact that some of the magnets had fallen off meant that it started to become ineffective. By week 4, this item had become useless. If you're willing to change this every few weeks, or only need a short-term fix, then I fully recommend it. But as a permanent solution, this product is far from perfect.
