Mannesmann M41115 Pneumatic Door Closer in White

I was looking for a gentle door closer so my cats could open the door and walk through before it closed on them, but even on the loosest setting this closer packs quite a punch!There’s a small plate on the bar so you can wedge the door open with a gap of your choosing. This worked great for the first couple of weeks, but it wore very quickly. If you rotate it at a certain angle it can work, but it’s not to be trusted as it can slip without warning. It’s safe to say the cats are terrified of the door at this point!On the plus side, very easy to install, just six screws and by slipping out the pins at either end it can be removed very quickly. I’ve done this when we had kids visiting as I envisaged trapped fingers.

I bought this door closer 2 years ago. It has been closing a very large heavy old door that is in constant use throughout the day. It has just broken and I am buying another one. For £12 and the work it has done, I think 2 years is a reasonable lifespan.It has a very discreet appearance and it's easy to set it to hold the dor open.

The media could not be loaded.  I paid £12.68 P&P with Amazon Prime in May 2019.First impressions: I received what I ordered but there at almost no instructions !! I had to look at a YouTube video to make sure how to install it.The few images printed on the cardboard casing, are very difficult to figure out.Once I saw an online video, it took me minutes to install. Works like a dream (primarily to stop my cats from escaping !!

Good product

1. The item that was delivered wasn't the same as the picture. Part id was the same though.2. The whole thing has been painted thickly. Including the end of the bar that exits the tube. The tag that fits over the bar (and creates friction in order to stop the bar from retracting and hence the door shutting) would not fit over the bar with the coating on it.If you have this problem, in hindsight I would force it and scrape the coating off. I milled the metal tag slightly larger. However the tag requires a sharp edge in order to grip the bar. So I then had to file an edge back in and change the angle (apply large hammer). The whole thing irritated me, it works (eventually) but why is the picture clearly different than the one sent which looks far better quality. There are others out there for a few quid more go for one of them!

Does the job

Good for the price easy to fit can be noisy

Had these fitted to integrated fridge/freezer, as the doors were kept slightly ajar.They work well most the time but the springs do make a noise when open/closed.
