VERY bright and a great price for a tank on a budget
Just set mine up on my 69 gallon reef tank and i'm very impressed with how bright this light is! Like DO NOT stare directly at it with the whites turned all the way up.. it will burn your eyeballs lol 😂 I have been searching for a bright "budget friendly" upgrade light for my tank for awhile now and glad i came across this one. It seems very sturdy and well built and i really like the simplicity with the controls. Just two dials and a switch (my dials do not look like the pictures though and have no white lines for intensity measurement, but that's alright with me). I do have a few minor complaints with it, however. As a few others already mentioned in the reviews the steel cables it comes with do seem very thin and i am kinda worried with how well they will hold up and don't even bother with the cheap carabiner clip. I will probably upgrade the cables to something stronger in the future. Also the power cord is super short. Had to get a very long extension cord to even begin to reach the outlet. Other than that i'm pretty happy with it so far! Super excited to see how well my corals grow under it and only time will tell to test it's durabilty in the long run!

Works but not as advertised
I give 4 stars cuz everything seems to work and it is very bright. It is plenty for my 40gal Breeder. I'll be back to update if something goes wrong. So far so good but curious why the pics on Amazon show dial marks and numbers for the dimmer knobs but as you can see by my pic there is none. No big deal but kinda weird. And another weird one is in the pics on Amazon there is a seperate pic showing the design of a lens over each LED so the light can reach the sandbed easier. Uuuum there is no lenses over the LEDS. Just a dome shaped reflector like on flashlights. Except on a flashlight that reflector is shiny chrome or like a mirror not white like on the light. Idk I find it pretty shady to have pictures of several things that don't exist on the actual light. And the fans would do alot more good if there where idk a few heatsinks placed on the giant metal plate inside covered in LEDS. I went ahead and voided my warranty and added heat sinks. I do like how quiet the fans are. And you have to manually shut on and off the 2 different channels there is no timers. And I will be opening it up again to silicone in the piece of plexi-glass. I have a few minor complaints, but all in all for the money its worth it to me. Like stated, I'll be updating on whether this light grows corals or anemone.

Best planted aquarium light I've used
Maybe more of a blog than a review, but hey if you have some time, so do I. I've just stepped into the planted aquarium hobby about a year ago. I've dabbled quite a bit with salt water aquarium before this and decided to try out a few freshwater planted tanks. I experiment quite a bit with different lighting fixtures, water parameters and substrates. One thing I've found, is lighting has a drastic affect on balancing a planted tank. I went down the lighting rabbithole, researched the science behind lighting for plants (and microbial life too!), I tried 5 different lights for my 10 gal, heavily planted shrimp tank before coming across this fixture. Having failed to balance this tank with any previous light (before shrimp were involved for those who are concerned) I didnt hold much hope into this relatively cheap option, but it had the power, and it had the spectrum, so I gave it a shot. After about a week or 2 my plants started BOOMING!! My dwarf baby tears (which almost died off) started pearling, something I had never seen. Soon after, algea started to become a big nuisance. I dial back the output to a little less than half and run the light only 6 hours a day. My plants still loved it and the algea died back with a little help from seachem excel. I still run it on the same output and timing. Being the second cheapest light Ive tried, I can't hardly believe the results. I've been running it for I think 5 or 6 months now, so far very solid growth. One thing I have noticed, is the dials (which i believe are called pulse modulators) are a bit on the cheaper side, for obvious reasons. They do tend to be finicky when making adjustments and also, probably the reason people report it having a short life span. Though I can't confirm because mine is still in working condition, I believe these could be easily replaced for about $15 per dial and a soldering iron. If just 1 channel goes out, that could be the culprit. In any case, these lights are pretty simple and LEDs don't often "burn out" so any problem presented is likely an easy fix for those willing to troubleshoot. Overall great light, I hope it becomes available again in the future, I would like to use them on my 40 gallon planted breeder next!

Pretty good lights - some issues
3.5 stars. These lights are decent, probably ok for the money. I got them as an upgrade to my $50 harbor freight fluorescent shop lights which have been going strong for 3 years, but haven’t been quite bright enough to keep my ludwigia as healthg as I want. I would say these lights are maybe 20% brighter than the shop lights. Is that worth $300? I’m not sure. I was honestly expecting them to be a little brighter. They are absolutely not 150 watts as advertised. But they are brighter than what I had, so I guess we’ll see. The fans are very quiet, but may be noticeable on a small tank. I have a sump with a wet dry filtration system so there’s a bit of running water noise already, so I don’t hear the fans. My main issue is that the outlet on one of them didn’t work out of the box, so I had to put that light at the end of my tank to make the three light system work. It doesn’t bode well for quality control, and I was already worried about longevity of these lights. My other issue is that the outlet that connects each light together is on top of the light rather than in the back. This makes it so that there is a cable sticking up awkwardly from each light and there’s no easy way to hide it.

Great, no-frills lighting
Basing this review on the short time I have had them. These lights are extremely bright- i don't have any corals so i can't say what effect it would have on them. You have a control knob for the white and one for the blue so you dial it to your needs as well as turn either off. These lights are not for the hobbyist whom want full programmability like you would get in far more expensive lighting solutions but if your ok with plugging them in to a timer then you are good to go. They did come with the hangers so all you'll have to worry about is where to mount them. What I like most about them is that they can be daisy chained (no more than three though) which makes cable management much easier. Cooling fans are pretty quiet but that could be masked by the ancient iwaki pump i have screaming under the tank. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.
