Glad I got this
In general, if I buy a tool I want it to last. That said, I skipped the $100 and sub $100 pumps. Not a tool I’ll use everyday. I work generally on friends, family, and my personal cars. This 2 stage pump is very nice. Solidly built. I was easily able to draw down my vehicles ac system. It’s quiet ( as far as vacuum pumps go ), and a little weighty although not as heavy as others I’ve used. Had no leaks, no misting, and it was hot the day I did my minivan. Was worried it would shut down from over heating while I kept the system under vacuum for 45 minutes. Never even hesitated. I’d buy it again.

Damaged delivered. Now perfect after repair.
The media could not be loaded. I heard " ups!!!!" . before I had my shoes on and opened the door the driver dropped it at another apartment. In less then 30 seconds!!!. Then I checked the box. Damaged outside. Styrofoam damaged inside. Pump itself damaged and loud. Is it only a b or c grade product or did they sell me a used one as a new??? Who knows. But I know , next time it is not worth to spend more money for the name. I would never buy a pump with name on, twice the price of a china product , only to receive less then Chinese quality.UpdateRepaired myself .A scratching fan blade was the origin of the noise. Now it is silent as a pump should be. Amazon compensated my work. Good for 4 stars now.New update after month of use:Daily use has no negative impact. Vacuum still 5 mbar better as specification, fast, reliable , low noise.

Worked great
Only used once, but it worked great. It is easy to use. It is a bit heavier than the cheaper units, which I am more than OK with. I like the dual inlet system, you can open the second port with the gauge set still attached so that the pump starts on zero load, then close the second port to pull a vacuum.

Very affordable for the occasional user
I am not a mechanic. It is one of my hobbies to do auto repair for friends and family. I needed a vacuum pump to do AC repairs (all R134A).My unit does not look like the photo above. It looks more like the Robinair 15500 unit. Maybe the photos were swapped somehow on this site, I'm not sure.I have used it many times to evacuate the AC system of various cars and trucks. This pump is extremely quiet. I was expecting something very noisy. This pump also came with a small bottle of vacuum pump oil.I would definitely purchase this unit again if I had to. Highly recommended!

perfect results appeal to me)
I use this unit solely to stabilize wood blanks for turning. Once I abandoned the DIY vacuum chamber (I imploded two acryllic air tight canisters along the way) and got a proper vacuum chamber this purchase hit its true stride. I can pull 27 microns in less than a minute of run time, seal my chamber, and not run the pump again until the next batch is ready. Change the oil every so often and I think I'll have this unit on my side for a lifetime of blank stabilization (it's probably overkill, now that i think about it, but repeated, perfect results appeal to me).

This SUCKS..
This SUCKS....Har har. Because it's a vacuum! This has been a pretty good vacuum. I use it for vacuum forming almost every day.I had read that this pump is designed to pull 25 inHg.When first connected, it was pulling 25 inHg, but after 2 months I am only pulling about 22 inHg with this. I dunno if I developed a leak in my PVC system or if this is a standard performance dip. I have followed oil recommendations. I am still able to form wood with this pretty easily at 22inHg. So, no worries for me.This is my first vacuum pump, so I don't have much to compare it to, but it seems fairly quiet to me. Quieter than what I was expecting.Things I really don't like... I do not like that it produces an oil mist when it's working at it's maximum. My workshop is the size of a 3 car garage and after using this pump for a couple of hours, I noticed an oil fog in air. I had read online that this mist doesn't hurt you, but I am not into breathing oil, so I have to open doors (which sucks in the winter) and I wear a respirator.Leaks... If I didn't know better, I'd think this thing was made by Harley Davidson.I noticed a fairly good sized puddle of oil around it after 4 hours of use. I THINK it's just the condensed oil vapor because the level seems to be maintaining pretty well.Other than a slight decrease in inHg, the oil mist, and the leaking... It's been working pretty well. As long as this keeps sucking at over 20 inHg I can manage the other issues.

Great pump
I replaced an aging Yellow Jacket pump that served well for many years. Since I'm only doing HVAC part time now I did not want to spend a lot of money on a second pump. Right out of the box this pump pulled 27 microns on my Bluvac gauge. I pumped down a 1.5 ton mini split with 40 feet of line set below 500 microns in just over a minute, excellent performance. The pump ran cool and quiet. The only negative is that this pump is made in China. Good value for the money, only time will tell if the pump will hold up in the long run.
