Classic Sketchbook: Cats: Secrets of Observational Drawing

Delivered on time in excellent condition. The book takes pictures of cats by master artists, and uses each one to demonstrate a way of representing a part of cat anatomy. I'm now fairly good at drawing inanimate objects, especially those with geometric shapes, but my drawings of living things other than plants leave much to be desired. I'm hoping these beautiful, inspiring illustrations will help me along my journey to developing the skill to draw cats, dogs, and people.

Deatails illustrated step by step. Good examples from famous old paintings. Tips for the best supplies to use for your drawings. I am looking at my cat differently now that I have studied all her remarkable parts.

Great little sketchbook with examples from varied art sources, such as traditional advertisement and comical. Showing the cat in detail but also wide and varied positions, shapes and styles, love it!

I cannot draw worth a darn, but I LOVE all things to do with cats and kittens, so I continue to learn and try!This book is exquisite. I may never reach the level of mastery contained in this book, but the guided drawings are so beautiful, making me appreciate cats all that much more!

I expected a how to guide for drawing and painting cats but wasn't disappointed. It's a good art book.

Easy to follow book teaching you to draw and illustrate cats. At the end of learning the techniques I should be capable of doing a portrait of my own cat.

For art historians I’m sure it would be interesting but I was looking for a book to show me how to draw and paint cats, this absolutely is not it. For me it has chosen some of the worst most awful examples throughout history / the world and then discusses them, which has its place for some, but I don’t believe will help anyone who is looking for a straightforward how to book. Returned.
