3M Super Strength Molding Tape, 03609, 1/2 in x 5 ft

I used this for a strip of material that came undone on the top of my Rav during a car wash. I applied this tape, let it bond and no issues! Great exterior auto tape with excellent hold.

Purchased this tape as a last resort to hold our 'Rear View Camera' onto our rear interior light lens (Hyundai Santa Fe). We live in Las Vegas where extreme heat (120'-130') inside the car when parked outside can melt the best of any sticky tape, I know because I have tried most of them. Their tape would stick for about a week or so and then give up and our camera would drop and then sway like a pendulum when driving, pretty much eliminated the purpose of having a rear view camera when that happens. Then I came across this 3M tape & decided had nothing to lose, so ordered this tape and another type of 3M tape. I put this on first, just a small amount. So far after scorching, burning, skin peeling, eyebrow scorching heat inside our car, this tape seems to be enjoying it and is working great...and it has been for nearly 2-months. Buy it if you have a tough, sticky project, just make sure you help it by doing minor prep work ahead of applying the tape. I sanded our plastic lense lightly as recommended and then cleaned with wet rag, waited for it to dry and then applied the tape onto our camera mount, then peeled off the other side and applied....No more falling camera! Now we can see where we've been and who's behind our Hyundai much too close for comfort!UPDATE: Aug 6, 2020It has been a year since I applied this 3M tape to hold our rear view car camera. With soaring interior heat inside the car when parked & AC off (we live in Las Vegas) this tape is still holding strong. Awesome tape!

The molding around the wheel well on our Toyota Echo came loose and was flapping in the breeze. I scrubbed the area with soapy water, washed it off, let it dry, applied the tape to the molding and pressed it against the car. (Or maybe I applied the tape to the car and pressed the molding against it. I don't recall.) It looks exactly like it used to and has stayed in place for over 6 weeks. If it comes off in the next year or two, I'll come back and adjust this review.

So after our privacy gate hit our truck, our son was driving and removing the strip in the side panel stripping this adhesive put it back in its place and hasn’t moved since withstand rain, heat dust, and a car wash so if you need this to repair your car I suggest this product

One of the roof gutter trim pieces on my truck was coming off. After reading many forums this tape came highly recommended. I just prepped the surface by cleaning it and so far it's been holding strong over a couple thousand miles of road trips.It's really sticky, so make sure you have everything prepped and laid out ahead of time, because once you peal the backing off the tape you won't get a second chance.

Used to reattach edges of door molding on Chevy Silverado. Watched how-to videos on YouTube and followed instructions on package. Worked great without any problems. Molding still firmly attached after 6-months. Would definitely buy again!

I had a similar experience as other low ratings describe. This tape is just not sticky. At all. I was careful to clean and prep the metal surface with an alcohol wipe, wait on it to be bone dry, and apply the tape carefully without touching the adhesive surface. Tape simply falls off. Disappointing as I've had very good luck with other 3M mounting tape for other applications.Edit: a layer or two into the roll the tape became sticky as expected, so perhaps this was just an old roll? The good section worked well and has ample strength to fasten wheel weights to a motorcycle/auto wheel. Revised rating from 1 to 3 stars.

When it comes to automotive tape, there is no better than 3M! Its super adhesive and somewhat difficult to remove but not impossible but that’s what you want in this type tape! The only negative, in my opinion, is the protective red material that covers the adhesive side of the tape is very hard to remove! Once you can pull up a corner of the protective red tape from the adhesive the rest pulls off fairly easily! I would highly recommend using the 3m Adhesion Promotor along with the 3m tape as it makes the adhesive stick in almost any kind of weather condition, cold or hot!
