the definitive shoegaze statement, essential 180 gram vinyl pressing music label: Music On Vinyl 1993 / 2011 Review: Why Nadine? - Buy local, but if you like shoegaze you should own this probably, Nadine owned this...but Nadine was a different time, and a different place. She's probably off eating pizza somewhere in India talking about how Bukowski is empowering to read as a woman, since she's alive and he's dead. She always was funny. Review: Sounds fantastic. - Outstanding pressing. Sounds fantastic.

One of my top five fav records of the 90s!
This is in my top five favorite records of the 90s and in my top ten of that era. It is an awesome album with a dreamy reverb guitar atmosphere/ambience and mystical echo vocal feel. Also, the songwriting is top notch and Alison Goswell's voice is like she is heading a celestial chorus with the other singers and can come across as melancholic and otherworldly but not too much so. Almost as if, it is like a mist of varying emotions, some dark and light and makes me feel cerebrally satisfied.

Pressing is top quality, Souvlaki is a bit depressing.
Souvlaki is a classic. I received as a gift. The press is very high quality - it doesn't get any better. Paired this with a top shelve headphone amp + HD 598s, and took me to what felt like the dark side of the moon. This is an album you want on vinyl to truly appreciate. 5 stars for the pressing, 4 stars for my rating of Souvlaki. Really great collection of songs. They really know how to utilize the sound stage. Album doesn't flow that great which is why I say a collection of really great songs. Shame on Slowdive for ending the album on such a depressing note.
