Biology: Essentials and Exploration (Steck-Vaughn School Supply)

There are ten sections to this book, each covering a different area of biology. That means I can use three weeks for each section, adding material as I choose, to delve in a little more deeply or explain a little more. Some of the questions at the end of each section are a little more difficult than high school freshmen can handle, but we'll see what we can do. I used to teach biology in a regular classroom and am now homeschooling children of friends. I like this book as a basic core for the year.

I am so confused I just don't even know what happened to the book I received, was it someone's practical joke, sly marketing trick, or just a printing error at the publisher?There was an entire different book inside the cover at the front of the actual Biology content that was supposed to be in the book. The first book was all about the Cannabis industry, and has its own separate ISBN number. The spine was thick enough to accommodate both books, which makes it seem intentionally printed with both books inside, but there was no indication it would contain a second book about weed. I just ripped out the first book and can use the remaining biology pages as intended.I've never seen anything like this, just FYI in case there are more copies floating out there like this.

I bought the set... (Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry). This book is very comprehensive... It has Unit Reading, Key Terms, review questions for each unit, and worksheets for each subject that can actually be used for testing, plus an answer key. I would definitely recommend.

We love this publisher for home school science curriculum. Easy to understand, the labs are fun, and they hit all the science standards. Will be purchasing again. I cannot recommend this whole line of Science by the Grade enough. It is the best I have found.

My daughter loves this book. She is in the eighth grade. We homeschool and this book has been a wonderful addition to our curriculum.

This is a good supplemental resource. I was disappointed that there is not enough in here to cover a whole year. I have decided to keep this as a supplement and had to go find something else for my son's biology class.

I felt like this book was missing information to the questions they asked. Just over all very confusing.
