Great watch for the price. I purchased this watch for its solar capability. It has not disappointed. The only con is that it's not easy to put a replacement band on it. The band width where it attaches to the actual watch is wider than the watch pins, therefore conventional replacement bands do not appear to fit properly. It is what it is. Although the stock band appears to be working adequately I do not expect it to last.

Changing the time and other functions:I’ve been to a watch repair shop several times in the past few years to have a battery replaced, and in two shops I was asked if I could leave it overnight. I was amused to find out why they needed 24 hours to replace a battery, which is because they are embarrassed about needing the time to find someone who knows how to set the time etc. The last guy I went to who wanted 24 hours confessed and told me he had to have his wife figure out how to set the time and whatnot. Another person who left a review on this mentioned he was able to change the functions without the manual. Even as a retired engineer I’m not quite that good.It’s nice that most the gadgets we get these days have a user manual included, but if you use it you’d better have a good magnifying glass to see that tiny print. Thank God for those all so nice pdf user manuals available online.Pros:1- It's fabulous the way the analog hands automatically move to the correct time position after you set the digital time.2- You can be at the North Pole or one of those places where it’s dark for six months, and the charge on your solar watch battery will last that long (actually ten months).3- The battery never has to be replaced.4- Displays both Digital and Analog time.5- Glow in the dark hands and 12, 3, 6 & 9 positions.6- Battery indicator tells you if the battery is low, middle or hi charge.7- You don't have to have sunlight to charge - Charges well with indoor lighting. Went from Middle Charge to High Charge in a few hours with indoor lighting. So don't worry about cloudy days.8- The low cost for such a good quality watch with so many features does not break the bank.Cons:1- Minor – The analog glow in the dark feature isn’t very bright, but it’s okay since you can press the light button that illuminates the digital time.2- Minor – List of city codes is limited. Many cities are not on the list. But if your city is not on the list you can pick one that’s in the same time zone as you, which could mean you may not have the automatic Daylight Savings Time, and may have to change it manually.3- Minor - The sound of the chime or alarm is not very loud.Yes, I admit to being a gadget freak, and as such I will also admit to this being my second solar powered watch. The first was a little less money and does not have a rechargeable battery but I decided to keep it because it looks nice. This one is my favorite because the battery is rechargeable & I like all the features. It's my second Casio watch. The first one I've had for several years and I love it as well, with all it's features of Altimeter, Barometer etc. So I can definitely recommend Casio watches.

I really prefer this to the higher cost G shocks. Would be perfect with a glass bezel and a better strap, but for the price it's excellent.

I am rough on things and this watch has held up time and time again. Only the band wears out before the watch. I would definitely purchase it again.

Edit: I'm coming from a Casio Protrek 3500, a very dear watch even today, but I this has been my daily driver for the past couple months for the underlying reasons, got it back when it was on a deal, knowing what I know now, the watch is worth every atom of a penny!It's a casio! Enough said, but what is not said enough is how light weight this watch is! It has replaced my other casio watches and has become a daily driver.This watch can stand up to the likes of a GShock any day any time!Other pros- it has pretty decent lume!Thanks!

The positive for this watch is that once you figure out which city on its menu is in your time zone it usually gives you an accurate time when you set it. The bad part of this watch is trying to figure out the abbreviations for the cities. Some of the abbreviations like NYC for New York City and CHI for Chicago are easy. When traveling out of the US and going through many time zones it is a pain to reset and find the appropriate city. Sadly I cannot figure out how to set the date. I wish I had purchased a solar watch that just has a button that I can set the time myself.
