Our Family Recipes Journal

The first copy of this book I bought so I could write down my grandchildren's favorite recipes they ask me to cook! I gave this book to my oldest granddaughter for Christmas one year. Then a couple of years later my second granddaughter was getting married...so I bought one for her with same recipes. The last four copies I purchased will be for my other three grandchildren when they get married and a copy for my first great-granddaughter to have someday! As I write the favorite recipes down, I sometimes tell a story about it and/or list where I got this recipe and how you can change it up if you don't have the exact ingredients it lists. Sometimes favorite recipes get lost as time passes.......this way each grandchild will have a copy that they too can someday pass down to their children!

Love the book it's got plenty of room for you to either paste or Scotch tape or type a recipe and put it in there as well as doing it by hand. Love it

I love this recipe book! it looks like grandma’s recipe book which is the look I was going for! Quite simple but very thoughtfully created. I love how each section has different colors! I wish there were more than 9 pages for each section, especially the main course! I would definitely buy a bigger one and wouldn’t mind praying a little more for additional pages. For now, this would be perfect to capture all the family recipes so that one day, I can pass them down to my children.

I have a bunch of recipes on separate pieces of paper or in text messages from family that I've been wanting to put together into one journal. After searching in stores and online I saw this one and the cover seemed pretty attractive as well as the pages. I went ahead and bought it and it's just as attractive in person. It has all the categories you could think of like appetizers, soups and salads, desserts, beverages, main dishes, and a miscellaneous section labeled as other. Each section has a table of contents which is convenient as well as sections for you to put the ingredients, recipe name and prep time, the steps, and why the recipe is special. I don't really have use for the section about the recipe being special so for me that part is just taking up extra space where I could put the steps on how to make the dish. I gave this 4 stars because while it's a really nice book, I think there isn't enough room on the instructions page to write a longer recipe, and sometimes if the recipe is a little long I find myself trying to write small enough to cram it all on the page which is kind of a bummer for anyone that might not be able to read some parts of the smaller handwriting. There's only one page dedicated to the instructions too, so it's not like I can just turn the page and continue the directions for the same recipe. Overall though I liked this book and would recommend it to those who have recipes that aren't super long.

I personally find it annoying to store recipes digitally because oftentimes blogs are full of ads and nonsense. It’s much easier to write down your favorite recipes that you use often in a book like this, keep it in your kitchen, and just whip it out while you’re making dinner. As you can see from the stains on the pages, we use this frequently and have for years! I’ve recorded our favorite recipes that we eat a few times a month, plus some old family recipes that have been passed down. It’s perfect! I would totally buy this as a gift for someone too if they like to cook/bake. I like the different sections for different types of recipes. Keeps things organized and easy to find.

A few years ago, my nephew moved out of state and got married. Whenever he would come home, he would be excited to eat the family recipes he'd missed. I decided to give his wife a book of the those recipes for when he was homesick.I searched for a pleasing version of a cookbook for the project. This was the winner, by far. It has well defined sections where you can list the recipe, source, and a comment about why it's special. His mother, Grammy and I all wrote in our own contributions. That's the best part. I love the recipes that I have in my grandmother's handwriting.They enjoyed the gift, and over time I wanted to do versions of it for his sisters. I came straight back to this one. If you're looking for a similar type of gift, I encourage you to take a look at this one.

I brought this recipe book for my sister to write down all the special recipes that we shared since childhood. The book is pretty and there are lots of pages. I did not need the soup/sandwich section but I can always adapt it a little and use the section for more recipes regardless!Me and my sister are both a big fans of Peter Pauper journals so I had to get this for here! 💕

I was not expecting such a great book!I have received journal-type books from Amazon before but they weren't as nice as this.This is truly a perfect gift and a way to pass down family recipes.Pages are colour-coded, there is an index, table of contents, cooking terms, conversion scales, wine pairings and emergency substitutions.The back even has a pocket of you wanted to include photos.It is hard cover and very high quality.The images and text on front and back are embossed.I can't wait to give this to my mother-in-law for all her family recipes.
