Star Rods PG1525ISM Stellar Lite Casting Rod

This is the first review of any product I have purchased through Amazon. This rod is very good and just as I ordered however the poor rating is due to the packaging or lack there of used to ship this rod.The rod was shipped in a light weight box without any support filler or protection. A plastic sleeve similar to sandwich bag material which was not sealed had worked it's way off the rod by approx. 50 %. The 7 ft one piece rod was just banging around loosely in the box which caused the finish to be damaged and the eyes were bent. The box was partially open as it was minimally taped and the box material itself so light weight that it would not support itself when stood up on end. It slumped over until the rod inside supported the box. The second rod shipped was not damaged ( surprisingly ) but the packaging after contacting Amazon was exactly the same except for a wad of paper pushed into the box which did nothing to protect the rod. The service and products I have received from Amazon in the past have been good. The shipping dept needs to review it's packaging procedures because it directly reflects on the company as a whole. If you are a person who enjoys fishing you will be well served by Star rods. They are a great product and while I have never dealt with the company for any problems I have used their rods and never had any issues what so ever. The fit and finish as well as the quality for the price is very good. I can highly recommend Star rods ( 6 STARS )but Amazon's packaging leaves a lot to be desired.
