Hard to use!
I'm not a pro at baking pastry, so I thought this crimper would help me! But I threw it into the drawer and haven't used it again :(

Pie Crimper Extraordinaire!
So, it's a pie crimper. Not exactly hi-tech or overly complex in terms of use, end user knowledge curve, etc. With this in mind, I'm wondering why there are so many "meh" or even one star reviews of this. Personally, I love this "specialized set of tweezers" as it makes crimping my pasties, mini-pies and calzones a breeze. This wouldn't work in a high volume bakery, but for home bakers this is a simple solution for a simple need...dough crimping. I especially like it for empanadas, pasties and smaller calzones as I can hold the filled pastry in one hand and crimp from both sides of the dough edge versus just one side at a time using a fork applied for the same purpose would. If you make hand pies on occasion, try it out. I think you'll agree, it simplifies sealing your pie edges.
