One of the 2014 engines - best used with the newly designed track system
This is for the newest Trackmaster sets (look at the engines back wheels). Some of the engines don't work properly on the older track style. I tested this engine (without the car) on the old track and it does a decent job but I would recommend a new track with it because the new track is awesome! We love it. The tracks stay together better and the configurations take up less space. My son used to get frustrated because his trains would fall off of the old tracks when they weren't perfect. This is a great engine to start with - I recommend it!

I notice that this one stays on the tracks better than the non square ones like James for instance
My son loves playing with his trains. I notice that this one stays on the tracks better than the non square ones like James for instance. James's wheels seem to be staggered and this causes him to come off the tracks if you have alot of quick turns. The square trains have their wheels inline.
