Mikasa Antique White Bread And Butter Plate, Set Of 4

I’ve had this set for years. I ordered these replacement mugs, because two of our broke. The glaze on these is not the same as the originals. It has a sandpaper feel to it. I’m disappointed in the quality. Considering returning them.

Love this set. It’s simple for everyday use but also formal for the holidays. I have the whole Mikasa antique white set. It is not white but more of a cream shade even though it’s called antique white.

These mugs are slightly smaller and a lot lighter than the HK400 mugs I bought a few years ago. Only noticeable side by side. Strange that it doesn’t have the hk400 printed on it either.

I ordered the set to mix and match with my old Mikasa antique white set, bought couple of years ago. To my surprise the new set was not made from bone china as my old one and there is slight difference in the shade - the bone china is whiter and is manufactured in China, the new one is made from fine china and is from Indonesia. It turned out that this collection is not manufactured in bone china anymore. I decided to keep the new set, it is still very good quality and besides the slightly darker shade there are no other differences with the old set (when plates are mixed on the table I cannot tell that there is a difference at all).I like the classic rim soup bowls in the new set (my old set has cereal/soup bowls) and I like the tea cups (the old one comes with cappuccino mugs). I love the design, antique white is still my favorite design among all Mikasa dinnerware collections. I have the serveware set from their Lausanne collection (platter, serving bowl, vegetable bowl, casserole dish and sugar bowl and creamer) which is with plain design and complements the dinnerware set nicely (and is more reasonably priced).

Hard to find a mug in this size and shape- comfortable to hold and attractive. The decorative relief is not quite as pronounced as shown in some of the pictures, but I still recommend it for those who don't want something big and clunky!

I actually bought two sets of these cups for our coffee area here at work. We have a Keurig set up outside of our offices, and we wanted to purchase some mugs so that we could offer coffee to guests and visitors, especially when we're holding a meeting on our remote floor.These mugs were perfect for our cause because they are both basic and still elegant. Not the most hefty mugs in the world, they are lighter than your average cafe coffee mug, but still seem sturdy in the hand. The first thing that comes to mind when I see them is "clean." And speaking of that, they are very easy to hand-wash in an area without a dishwasher. Wide mouths and spacey handles help in that area.The only thing I'd complain about is the price, really; I did think they were a little on the steep side for a set of four mugs, and I guess that's the consumer paying for the name, Mikasa, which from my experience makes decent, but not top-of-the-line stuff. I think that if they were about $6 or so less than what I paid, I'd have given five stars, because I truly am satisfied with the purchase.Now if the one mug that someone took and never returned would just come back, that would be perfect...

I bought 2 sets of Mikassa Trellis pattern dishes 2 years ago and they don’t have bread and butter plates. I haven’t been able to find the Trellis bread and butter plates but purchased these to go with our set. The plates are lovely and really good quality; although more on a cream color than my white Trellis set.
