Good value, with some adjustments.

They seem like a good value. Plastic should hold up better than wood. I ordered 4 of these for along my fence line. And did a single layer. Took about 5ish of the smaller bags of compost to fill each one. I also did a layer of mulch at the bottom. As far as the reviews complaining about the stakes , yes they are on the flimsy side but if you drill your hole first or use a metal rod to break through dirt/ roots then insert the plastic ones this kit includes you won't have any issues. I may even replace these with longer metal ones eventually. But all in all I'm happy with this garden bed!

Nice quality, quick to set up, sturdy, good value

I just set this up in my desert back yard near Phoenix, AZ, and it was quick and easy. I bought two sets so I could stack them, and installation couldn't have been simpler. I usually have someone else do this kind of thing for me, but this time I got out there myself, leveled the spot, put the first set down, pushed in the plastic spikes, then set up the second set on top. My only hesitation is that the spikes are weak. If you're trying to push them into anything harder than soft soil, good luck. I should have thought ahead and bought some tall metal spikes. I could still do that, and it would be a good improvement. But these plastic ones worked fine for me once I dug down a bit. Whether the plastic boards will hold up to the ferocious Arizona summer sun, we'll see - it's against a south-facing wall, next to my other (plastic, different brand) raised bed. I'd definitely buy this set again and recommend it.

Cheap, but functional

I now have three different versions of these in my backyard. The first one is wooden and starting to become brittle and break. The second is plastic and is holding up really well, but I bought that at the local hardware/gardening store. I am on quarantine at the moment, so I didn't try to go to the local store. Instead, I bought this raised garden bed set here. It is incredibly cheap plastic and is thin, too. I get the feeling that I am going to have to replace this in a year or two with something that is decent quality. It was the cheapest one I found online, however, for the dimensions, so I guess I got what I paid for. Next time, spend the extra money and get a different kit.

A great starter kit!

A great starter kit. It’s my first raised garden bed, so I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a fancy or robust set until I determined if it’s what I want. This kit was easy to put together. It isn’t particularly tall, so if you need a lot of good soil for your plants, you’ll have to dig down further than if you bought a taller kit. It is plastic, and my husband accidentally stepped on it when he lost his balance on a nearby slope. It cracked, but he just put a brick alongside the break to provide structural support and to prevent water from leaking out.I’m not sure how long the plastic will survive our warm/hot summers as compared to wood, but given that I spent less than $30 on this, I’m very glad to have it. Maybe next year I’ll upgrade to a more robust kit.
